NPD Southampton Ictineo

Hey Ictineo owners, Is it possible to set the pedal to add light overdrive along with all the tone shaping?
I just got mine. This is my first deluxe submarine, but I have used the basic versions before. This pedal does not distort under normal conditions. I find it works very well with the Fifth Gear overdrive, also by Southampton. The other option is to look for a BDPG by Fuzzrocious. It is somewhat similar, but with distortion. That pedal is also great but lacks the tone shaping of the ictineo. It is also out of production.
I wouldn't exactly call it overdrive per se, but if you engage the Boost switch and then dial back the volume (it's a 'UGE volume boost) there is some added weight and grunt to the notes.
I should add that the "added weight and grunt" is a good thing, and this is usually how I keep the pedal set most of the time.
You really need to watch that volume knob though. With the boost on it's a very fine line between almost off, unity volume, and overdriving the snot out of everything downstream. I've developed the habit of always turning the volume knob all the way down before engaging the pedal, as my settings usually get jumbled up in my pedalboard bag between gigs.

Soooo....Is the Tone control like a "tilt eq"? And will the Ictineo run on 12v or 18v?

9v for sure, and I'll find out about the eq, since its our only clone, I dont know for sure.....
Thanks! Reason I ask is I had a Submarine (non Designer) a while back for a minute and I seem to recall it had a tilt style EQ? Is that correct?
Or maybe I'm getting that confused with a Diamond comp I also had a while back for a minute.
I'm pretty excited to try the Ictineo out! It's been on my short list for some time.
Diamond comp is definitely a tilt EQ. The Ictineo is similar IMO, but I don’t know the exact details.
Found a graph of the Submarine's (non-Designer) Tone. I'm ASSumimg the Ictineo's the same?
Also, what does the Body control do? Like a mid scoop kinda deal? Is it flat around 2:00 like the Zeibek/Electronix Submarine?

IME no. It’s a clean machine. Tone shaping, most def. but if you’re looking for any real grain or overdriven dirt, it’s nit here. I mean, if you have a tube amp and really crank it in boost, you may get some barely there traditional drive tones. But IME with it so far, it’s very clean, very powerful.
I've used the Ictineo for the past few rehearsals. I am very happy with this pedal. Once I got used to how the switches and knobs affect the eq, I find it quite intuitive. I am able to dial in great sounds easily.
Same here. It's pretty fun to use! I'd rank this as one of my Top Buys for 2017.

That's exactly how my pedal board is set up. The Southampton sandwich!
