OCD love/hate

I've been using an ocd clone lately and love the way it sounds but I'm noticing a drop in volume when i dig in and get dirt. Is this a common complaint? I've read mostly positive reviews of ocd w bass. Furthermore, is there a solution other than buying a new pedal? I'm an avid effect user but this is my first attempt at a warm touch sensitive od on bass. I've tried and like a few other dirt pedals like basstortion, sft, etc... They seemed to not have this problem but i like the sound of the ocd more. Is this maybe an issue specific to the joyo and i should go get the real (mooer?) ocd? Thanks for your thoughts.

Nope. I'm assuming it would go after the joyo, right? The problem with that is that there's no room on my board. Joyo took the last bit of space. That is why i am considering a new pedal. I was just thinking that my problem may be that my chain starts with a radial tone bone with the boost engaged all the time. Am i overwhelming this thing? Doesn't seem to bother my bmp, sodameiser, torn's peaker, dark boost, mastotron, wooly, or zen drive.

Do you mean it sort of seems to compress the sound of the dist when you dig in? I have an OCD by fulltone and the only time I think it seems to give me issues like you may be having is when I kick the drive and tone all the way up. It seems like it's too much and the signal almost does get a little weaker cause there's so much of a hot signal going to it. Like it compresses. Idk if that is what you mean though.

Yeah man...how are you running it? Full gain? If so, try low gain with the tone more towards the treble side. I haven't heard this complaint about OCDs or their clones.

I'll try that. I'm not sure if you speaking to me or the OP but I'll see how my OCD reacts to your suggestion. I usually run the drive and tone around 2 o'clock and I keep it on high pass filter. I just love how it cuts through the mix. It's pretty awesome compared to most other OD's Ive tried.

Signal goes like this: p bass, bassbone flat eq with a bit of boost, sodameiser, hog, joyo, green muff, carbon copy, tremolo. The only pedals engaged are the bassbone and joyo.settings on the joyo are drive-10:00, level-9:00, tone 11:00. I may just be trippin....

I have the gain at 10 o'clock. Pretty light. Maybe I'm just perceiving the compression as a drop in volume. It doesn't seem to drop as much on my upright, i mostly notice it on my p bass.

Barring a power issue, my guess would be compression. Digging into the strings using an OD like that creates more gain hitting the pedal, and so more distortion and breakup of the lower frequencies.

mmm drop in volume on the joyo? you are not talking about a modulation here, it's an overdrive pedal, with a volume knob!!!, just turn the level knob up!

if you talk about getting lost in the mix, that's completely another thing, turn the tone knob up for more mids, hope this helps
