Off the norm Christmas tunes

Share anything Christmas music but the old standards. I'll start.

Probably the most depressing xmas song ever written. A true story of the 1913 Italian Hall disaster in Calumet MI where dozens of children were suffocated when Mining company goons falsely yelled fire. The children surged downstairs from the xmas party to find that the door opened inward and there was no escape. Ive been to Calumet and seen the door in the museum. I saw the photos of dozens of tiny caskets laid out. It brought me to tears.

Yeah man, I read up on it. Don't Google it folks unless you want to see the kids laid out, it's horrifying. His dad actually wrote the song, but I like his version better. I play in an old time string band, so lots of murder ballads, sea shantys, etc. Our songs seem to be either depressing, or about Moonshiners. I think we're going to add this one for the season tho. Fits our mold.

One band I play with has done this one in past years.

Last year we recorded this song using this version as the model. Our singer has a high voice.

I had to learn this one this year. Almost every female singer you can think of has done it but I like this version the best.
