Official 2015 NHL Playoffs Thread

The Pens have the Rangers? Oh my, another short post-season for the Pens. I predict a sweep.

For the rest of the east, I'll take a hot Ottawa team, Detroit, and the Islanders.

St. Louis, Chicago, Anaheim, and Calgary in the west.

-Mike

STL-MIN: St. Louis in 6.
NSH-CHI: Chicago in 7
ANA-WPG: Anaheim in 6
VAN-CAL: Vancouver in 6

MTL-OTT: Montreal in 7
TBL-DET: Detroit in 5
NYR-PIT: New York in 5
WSH-NYI: Washington in 7

This is my prediction. Can anyone clarify what happens in the second round though? How does it get matched up?

A couple years ago, they stopped with the reseeding after each round. It's bracket based now.

Sooooo what happens precisely? In a hypothetical sense.

Like I heard it's a division semifinal (Round 1), division final (round 2)*, Conference final, SCF.

*: Clearly this year in the west, five teams from the Central made it to the playoffs so how will that work?

Bad move in a way--as the conference semi round could be better than the conference final...
But I understand why they went to it--makes it easier for pools and stuff--so they're hoping it stimulates interest in actually watching.

I can be a bit cynical at times.

I predict a pretty good run for the Sens , conference finals , at least.

Their rallying around an incredible rookie goalie (Remember Roy in '86) , their best record in the last 30 games ( 24-4-4 !!) , the emerging of young players like Pageau , Stone , Hoffman and a DG with stage 4 cancer who could give them an inspirational boost.

Lots of ingredient for a good meal !

I want Vancouver to win it all but I have a deep down feeling that the WCF will be Anaheim vs Chicago. Vancouver isn't gonna be able to handle those two teams during this time of year, ESPECIALLY Chicago.

I'd love for the Canucks to win on the centennial anniversary of the Millionaires' 1915 Cup win. I hope they don't use those bloody uniforms though. They've lost every game they wore those.

My fearless predictions--which are sometiems different than my preferences--although in some series I don't have a preference of who wins.
The series winners will be:

St. Louis over Minnesota
Chicago over Nashville
Anaheim over Winnipeg
Calgary over Vancouver

Montreal over Ottawa
Tampa Bay over Detroit
Rangers over Pittsburgh
Islanders over Washington

I had to pick a couple of upsets--or at least lower seeds.
