When Mark Messier guaranteed the game 7 win he was wearing enough championship rings to...well, wait a minute, he already had one for the thumb!

To my hockey mind, Joel Ward is the MVP of that team, and (perhaps) this series...win or lose.

How could a 'hockey mind' like mine look past Holtby? He's been FANTASTIC! I guess I was just thinking of skaters/forwards...and deep into talking some deep smack about 'ovi'...
Ok Caps fans!!! You can go back to pretending to not follow them again. Or was it that you were pretending to follow them once they made the playoffs? One or the other.
Definitely not Holtby's blame on that one folks. Outstanding night in the net despite the loss.
Probably the most exciting series I can remember.
What a great series....a heart attack in every game. It's what I love (and HATE) about hockey...especially Rangers hockey!
Holtby has really upped his game...and he's only 25. Seems like he's been around a lot longer than that.
Glad NYR got past the caps....let's see what we can do against Boyle and Stralman...and maybe Callahan if he heals up in time.

Well I got the West right and the East wrong for round 2

That was the oddest moment, and I wanted to write about it last night...but I didn't want to look like a duffus and contradict myself. After all, that picture really was "Nuff Said"...but there was a moment, right after Stepan won the face off and started to drift to his left toward the middle, and the Caps' defender took a step toward the blue line to meet the Rangers' trigger man, that the entire 'thing' just slowed down for me and I had time enough to think "He's undefended, he's out there in open space waiting for the rebound...
Rangers WIN!"...and a second later, they did! It was like an out-of-body experience...simply surreal...I didn't make a sound...just SMILED real big!!!

The Rangers are out of their skulls right now. Absolutely ridiculous how entertaining that series was.
What do I...the old guy in Georgia...have in common with the Lightning? Two weeks from now I'll be watching the Stanley Cup Final, too!
