Official Aguilar Owners Numbers Club

I have never head a better sound than what I get from the Aguilar DB751. Korg customer service is absolute sh&t. My amp only came with one bag of screws to attach the rack ears to the amp. Tried getting them to send me another and they just give me a part number. They say it’s a flathead 10-32 screw but I bought some locally and they don’t fit. Anyone have any place where I can source these? I have my SE at SW looking into it as well but I’ve got a 300.00 head case sitting there doing nothing right now.

If you have an example of the proper screw with the threads/dimensions, you can usually go to a local Ace Hardware and just match it up. I’ve done that for guitar parts quite a bit and I’ve been semi-successful.

Thanks. I tried that at Lowes and the guy screwed it in and told me it was an M6, so I bought those and brought them to practice, and it was a no go. Diameter was too large. Korg told me it's an 10-32 so I bought some of those and they were either too big or it's possible the threads were/are different. I'm not sure. They do appear to be rack screws as my drummer was able to take one out of his rack and it worked. Only problem was it was way too long and I wasn't sure if they would make contact with anything on the inside. That and they aren't flathead. These screws are flathead and are meant to be countersunk into the rack ears and sit flush.

I went back and forth with Korg yesterday. I understand they don't keep parts on hand for everything, they are just the distributor. But I laid it out to them like this: I just bought the most expensive commercial bass amp made today, as far as I know anyway. And they are giving the person that just spent over 3 grand on Aguilar gear a part number for something that should have been in the box in the first place and telling him to find it himself. Told them I'd not be purchasing anything else under the Korg umbrella and thanked them for the time. They wrote me this morning that they will send me the proper screws. So, in the end, hopefully they make it here and I can put the headcase to good use.

Korg customer service is total crap. I can’t get a replacement speaker for my SL 210. They can’t give me ANY info on what it is, how to locate or buy one, and keep just sending me to the Aguilar dealer finder website. It’s been very frustrating. Why purchase as top brand to just let it die?
Yeah, if this amp wasn't as good as it is, I wouldn't purchase anything from them and certainly wouldn't purchase anything used. My Sweetwater rep is great and is working with the parts department to get the screws, but that takes time.

Well, hopefully they’ll make good on the screws for you, agree this should have been in the box but if you have to source yourself, it should be pretty easy to match up what you have, unless they’re black screws, which are typically tougher to find locally

The 10-32 is an imperial size 10 being the diameter and 32 being threads per inch and the M6 is metric which could either be fine or coarse threads. The reason I suggested Ace Hardware is they have a good sizing tool on the wall that allows you to check for proper fit.

Yes its to bad about the service, you used to be able to purchase replacement drivers and covers for just about every cabinet they made, plus i think about 50% of the cabinets have been discontinued, took me four or five e-mails with them to find out i couldnt get covers anymore for my DB cabs,i realize i can get other branded covers but thats not the point.I wonder what the two Daves are thinking.Sorry to go off topic but big business sometimes is just to much.

Received the spare screws sent from Korg today. I can finally install the head into the head case. It wasn’t an easy experience but I brow beat them enough to get it done apparently. Korg finally came through and they were responsive when I emailed. It just took some work to get them to actually do anything. Let’s hope they realize that customer expectations on a somewhat boutique brand are a little higher than some of their other brands.

Good to hear. Hopefully they learned a lesson.

I have quite a few options. It depends on the gig/venue. I’ve really been loving the two SL115 or the SL115 and a SL210 but two SL112 with the AG700 does the trick!
I was hoping you said the 210 with 115. I’ve got the SL210 + SL115 stacked with the AG700 and love it. I really want to try two 210’s or two 115’s to compare. I like the 210 more solo compared to the 115 solo, so leaning towards replacing my 115 with a second 210…

Anyways, you’ve got a beautiful collection there, with many options indeed!

There’s been this notion that you shouldn’t ever mix speaker sizes but I played my DB751 through the SL210 and SL115 and that’s a winning combination, for sure!

Often a decent rule to consider since some but Aguilar designed these two cabs to work well together.

I prefer the SL115 solo to the 210 but the combo is great (which is my current setup). With that said I am thinking about getting an SL212 since I find it easier to take one big cab to a gig rather then two.
