The V4B enclosure is a folded horn. Physically, I believe it's bigger than your 8x10.

Geddy Lee's 2112 era rig consisted of an 8x10, a V4B cabinet plus and SVT and a Sunn 2000S.

I'm not sure what speaker choices were available in the early/mid '70s but the V4B cabinets that I gazed at lovingly at the store had Altecs in it.

If the V4 cab is available and you have a means to move it, it might sound pretty good with the flatback 8x10. Personally, I think I would look for a B-25 cab, it might fit together a little better with the 8x10 (the V4 2x15 is a lot deeper) and I'm a little more partial to front firing 15s than folded horn cabs. The only issue would be that it needs to still have the 4/16 series/parallel switch to pair up well with the 8x10.

just added the micro vr 210 cab to my collection, and will be getting the head soonish to.

I have one. I wouldn't recommend it.
They're huge, they weigh a ton, and they don't have much in the way of definition. They're quiet where you stand (but probably earth shaking at the back of the room).

There are other 2x15s that would be way better to match with a flatback. All IMHO, of course.

I've posted this before, maybe earlier in this thread. Here's a V4-B cab beside an 8x10.They're both flush against the wall. It's a beast.

Hi! I play through an SVT-IIP preamp and would like to join. Does anyone know if the footswitch socket is TRS or TS jack - ie does it take two footswitches or one? Has anyone been able to find a manual for this?

Though I had a hard time to decide which tube amp I want (SVT II Pro, Marshall VBA400, Fender Studio Bass or Mesa 400) I just got myself a V-4B which is enough power for the gigs I usually do. Don't have a cab for it yet (I tested it with a SVT 410HE, very nice sound) but I think a SVT-410HE and a SVT-15HE will do. Or maybe a Trace cab will do too...
