So I came home from work Tuesday, and eagerly awaiting for me was a SVT450H and a SVT410HLF. Since this is my first TB post, I figure I might as well make sure I'm hanging out with the cool kids.

My first post as well, even though I'm watching this forum for months now;)

I love the tone of the SVT4Pro in AmpegSVX from IK-Multimedia. Just beautiful.
My questions: Does a real SVT4 Pro sound similar? And is there a big difference between a SVT3Pro and a 4Pro? I'm talkin about the sound, not technical stuff.

Wow! Cool.

I'll post some pics soon as my 'Pegs aren't home at the moment.

I gots:

B-15S
Early model, as it has toggles in stead of rocker switches. It has the plaque on the back that says n Altec 421A. I bought it with a Peavey Scorpion but just found a 421-8H that will be going in right after the recone.

Ampeg Juptiter 42 / B-42X
With matching HUGE ported 4x12 cab. Looks like a 6x12... needs a little TLC. Recap, retube and biasing... But I plan to use this with my Fender Bass VI. should make a great baritone amp.

I just sold a Reverberocket II that was in great shape... but had a little hum I couldn't get rid of. Sold it for a song.

I'm in the market for a B-25B and a V-2... maybe another Portaflex.

The SVT 4 Pro has many more possibilities than the 3 Pro and is quite a bit more powerful. It can push a lot more air. I think it is well worth the extra cost over the 3 Pro.

Hey Ampeg owners.... i need your help!

i'm currently looking & pricing out an SVT 4 pro to add to my 6/10 HLF stack. i have a really good local store helping me out to find the lowest price and i have also been looking online. my local store will match anyone, and i found it for $1169 no tax no shipping. they are able to match that.

i know i know.... but i really dont want a used one... my local guy buys them for around 800/850

knowing that it just kills me to pay 1169, even though i know many people pay more than that for these great amps
