OFFICIAL ASHDOWN CLUB

The more I use my HD-1 OriginAL, with the RM112T and RM115T cabs, the more I’m really digging this setup!

Looks like Fender Rumble 100 v3 is going on backup status, with the Rumble 500C going up for sale. The Ashdown is very punchy, yet stays very clear-no woofiness in the low end.

I’ll bet that HD-1 would sound amazing through the RM610 cab, but 123 pounds is more than I’d like to carry around anymore!

It only feels about 90 lbs or so. And it kicks and rolls so much easier than any of my ampegs. Something about the wheel placement. They got it like freaking perfect.

Yo rob, I got the 210 coming in on Thursday. Got a decent deal for brand new.

I take it you don't have the 15, cause I haven't seen you with one posted, but how's the 210 by itself? Anything comparable?
By itself the 210 does great, I've had the 410 disconnected for a few weeks now and it's still a heavy hitter. The only other 210s I've had were an ampeg BA210 combo and a bergantino cab. I didn't have them at same time but I think the ashdown had more punch than the berg cab which I was honestly underwhelmed by and didn't keep long.

Cool. I hadn't checked for any sound samples, I just kinda went for it.

Let us know how it compares to the 610. I've honestly been on the fence lately of going back to a 610 or going from 212 to 412. I know every cab is different but I'm kinda curious as those 610's look pretty great.
Depending on what I am playing my DG212 has been best for lead bass or anything where you need to stand out with your mids. The 210/410/610 just freaking slams especially pick playing with the extra attack supported by all the low-end.

Here's the rig stacked up. Compared to the 610. Then, everything all together :)

Everything together is pretty sick dudes.

Compared though, the 610 is warmer. That's really the only noticeable difference between the two. I really think it only has to do with having one tweeter compared to 2 tweeters.

The 610 is also not quite as loud...to my ears.

Who can tell me things about these older ABM810 cabinets? I believe these are pretweeter. How do they sound, say...compared to an SVT? Similar? Woofier? Better? Looking to add a second 8x10 alongside an SVT cab. Also for smaller things I'll just be using one 8x10. Curious as to which one I might pick of the two if I had both.

For reference heads are a rack mount Entwhistle RPM-1 and power amp in two cab mode and a RM800 EVO in single cab mode. I play fretless but rather loudly and aggressively in a non conventional sort of way. I prefer a very clean and very deep sound that is felt in the gut.....a few blocks away. In current "two cab" mode I go through the SVT 8x10 on one channel and low pass to a 1x15 and 1x18 on the other. Just curious if about the tone of these older ABM810s because I can pick one up cheap. Thanks

Great question and it probably depends on which 810 it is, the red grill ctm one, blue cone speaker one or white cone speakers? I'm guessing the white one and if so, it may be ported, which may give ya more oomph in a single cab layout vs the svt.

Fishing for info here, fellow Ashdown people. I have what seems to be an exceedingly rare edition of the ABM EVO II 500 line. I is a 4x10 combo in good shape. Have been searching for comps for some time, and not much luck- all are *sold* dead links, and only one had a price on it.
Question is, what are origin details, what is it actually worth for resale/trade, and are they actually as rare as suspected?
Photo is the one listing I found- not mine- but they are virtually identical.

People just like to complain about stuff without putting in the time and effort into learning thier equipment. Kinda like the Sub Octave on this. Mark has said it's not an octave pedal and never was. It's to add meat to what you feel when the amp is cranked in a live situation.

The subOctave on the old Klystrom SS heads is good

The sub Octave pedal I bought last year for my board was a disappointment. Sounded great when I could get it to work but most often it just picked up and sent out hum and hiss
