I assume turning pot clock wise increases out put??

Don't remember, and too lazy to take off the plate.... but, take your control plate off, plug your bass into your amp, grab a small screwdriver, and start twisting the the pot back-and-forth to see which way is louder or softer. How easy is that? That way you'll be able to dial in the sound/tone/volume that sounds good to you. go for it!

Last more: Because of the smaller headstock..smaller tuning keys were used. IMO the stock 300 keys look better but the Wilkinson mini's turn easier and smoother.

LowE:: My hands are kind of small and I thought that the ATK with a bit chunky neck would be to uncomfortable,,so for $200.00 ,I bought a new ATK 200. I figured for that small amount of coin,I could not go wrong. I see 200's and 300's on Evil Bay fairly cheap. I say what the hell go for it while they are there.

The old style headstock looks way better to me. Nicer logo and the bigger tuners look better too.

I've never seen an ATK come up for $150! Lowest as I recall was $250-$300... you're better off getting one from eBay. Even then, I've never seen one sell for $150.... good luck though! I think pawn shops, or Craigslist are your best bets. I once bought one off Craigslist for about $100 or so, but it looked like it had been in a barn for ten years! Took quite a bit to shine it back up, but it looked good after I got done with it. Only problem was, it was right handed, and I'm a lefty!

IIRC, I paid $135 for my ATK300 in the same deal. Still have it. Still play it.
Feels like I stole it.

A lot of TB'ers got in on that deal, but the fact remains that these were $600 basses. Used prices have bounced back to normal again, and the typical ask is in the $275-350 range, depending on age and model.

IMO, anything under $400 is a great deal, considering how they perform next to a Sterling by MM, which is pretty much their closest competition...

I agree with that, and add that my ATK750 is worth more than the full original asking price of $700-800 (I don't remember which)...It's easily worth the old wholesale price of 999. They really did a great job on mine, and it isn't very heavy either.

As you know that was one-time blip in the force! Never going to happen again... and Steve is right, about $250-$350 is the going price these days... but it does pay to be vigilant... really good deals do occasionally pop up.
