I knew that, but on my bass there is no small blue wire... I tried soldering, but no changeIm startin to think i should replace the electronics, atleast the preamp. It has been nothing but a pain, which is too bad, when it was working it sounded great and it still plays great. But the hum and now wiring problems..ugh.
Ill probably just try getting the wiring repaired by a pro, and if that doesnt work out, my savings goes into fixing up my main bass instead of getting more basses, which is good haha.
Ah sorry, didn't see the abundantly obvious "blue" in your post, just that one of the wires was missing. I take it there's only 3 wires connected to your jack too then? If that connection from the switch to the jack is missing then the circuit isn't properly complete, which is why your only getting a nasty sound and alot of buzzing. If you can't find it then try and find a small piece of wire from some old electronics or something (mark it with some tape or something if you can't find a wire that doesn't stick out enough from the rest, and then put that in where it should be. Even if you have to spend a little getting some wire just for it, it's alot cheaper then getting a tech to do it for you obviously.
MiniMoose - isn't that a blue wire underneath the board?
If so, that means they're all there and the black wire goes next to the earth (silver) wire on that line of pads.
If all else fails, you could try turning up the volume until it's just detectable through the amp, and touching the loose black wire on the pad adjacent to the earth wire - hopefully it won't blow anything, but if you're going to replace the pre anyway!
Sometimes you can see evidence of where a wire was soldered ie just a tiny bit of wire in the "blob" etc.
By that diagram it looks to me like it goes next to earth on the pad in the centre of that line. Count inwards from the edge - according to the diagram it goes empty, blue (under the board?) earth and black, see if you can get that to correspond to your board - it's hard to see from the photo

well, when it was connected, the 'earth' and the black wire were in a bbig blob of solder, and in about the same spot, i tried with my dad to solder it and nothing, im about to go try again, and get some of the big blob off and reconnect the earth and the black one.. and there are only 3 going to the jack, but yeah, that is a blue wire... idk bout that. :/
well, i got results 
the humbucking part works, somehow my combination of crappy soldering(my first time ever) and luck it works. the hum is still really bad though, no idea why.

No, its not the cord, and it hums through my little ibanez 15 watt amp, and my acoustic 200 halfstack, idk what it is. its a different hum on each pickup setting, almost none on the traditional, a ton on bright, and a more subdued but just as loud hum in attack.
One thing i noticed was that when i played it through the acoustic, the way the bass was tilted made the hum go away(mostly) or louder when it was horizontal, strings facing up. idk why that would be :/

Make sure that there are no solder bridges etc between the pads on the board - ie no shorts.
Was the hum present before the wire came off?
If not, then it sounds like a grounding issue (perhaps the earth and black pads are shorting?)
Had someone previously modified/repaired the board?
If the hum was there already, and the answer to the above is"yes" then it still sounds like a grounding problem, probably caused by shorting.

The hum was always there, and there may be some grounding issues, but this was the first time anyones done anything to it, so the hum was present when i got the bass. I got it as a present from my gf, and i couldnt send it back, so yeah... I still find it odd that the hum goes away almost completely when the bass is at certain angles, my p bass doesnt do that, idk what wiring issue would cause this.

ALL of my ATKs do that. If I am standing at certain angles, the hum will completley stop. I cant figure it out, and I have given up on trying.
maybe that little board is flopping around enough to contact something and cause your problem.
I think that may be it... im gonna try and secure it somehow later today.
