$159??!?!! how?!?! why??!!!

nice score- the blue looks really good in those photos.

the knob thats missing is because it got pressed into the body and craked it. but i put a new knob on and its good to go. no problems.

Why and how you ask. Friends ebay is wonderful place sometimes. this bass was brand new minus that problem. I put a max bid of 170 bucks. lol. it must have been my lucky day

I've become slightly obsessed with the ATK's, and have single-handedly started my own movement here on Oahu! Listed a batch of photos in the Bass Photography thread: http://www.talkbass.com/forum/showpost.php?p=7722858&postcount=780

Ibanez ATK300 - 3 Amigos....

The ATK on the right I bought off Craigslist here in Honolulu ('95-$200), cleaned it up and sold it to a friend, then searched three more months to find the Lefty in the middle that I bought off eBay ('95-$361), then saw the Righty on the left on eBay, and convinced my roommate to buy it ('94-$202). I've never seen any other ATK's in Honolulu. Musicians and Bassists come up and ask me what the heck is it, 'cause they've never seen them. Cool that they're all Ambers, and it's interesting to note that they all vary in color... am still scouring the internet for a lefty ATK305 five string.

I dig these Basses!

Looking for a Lefty ATK305 if anyone knows of one...

God I love that colour, aside from mine it's my favourite, wish they did a green trans similar to the stingray one. The grain on all of them is really nice but the one on the left is gorgeous.

You're right, that bass has the most pronounced grain pattern, and looks like a typical piece of Ash. The one on the right was the first one I bought, and to me had more of a Root-beer color to it - my favorite soda!

There's a cool story behind my Lefty ATK. It was originally owned by a massage therapist that was hired by Rob Zombie to go on tour with The White Zombies. While on the tour, the therapist mentioned he used to play Bass in the high school band, so Rob contacted Ibanez, one of his endorsers, to supply him with a lefthand bass, and this is the one they gave him. So, I'm sure this bass got passed around the bus and played by Rob and the members of the band.

The therapist was on the Road with the Zombies for about for years, from '95 to '98 I believe. After leaving the tour, it got put away in a closet all these years until I won the bid back in May. I knew I felt a little extra mojo when I started playing it!

ok thanks guys,

one more question, how much was teh ATK 1300 back in the days, and how much can i demand for it, if its in very good condition? i have 2 of them and i am thinking about selling one.

cheers

Hi, I'm a relative newbie here. I recently came into possession of an ATK3EX1 and I LOVE IT!!! It seems like a lot of bass for the money and it sounds and plays great. Count me in with a number please.
Thanks

Congrats and all :D But in this forum, no pics = no bass LOL, so get your camera and do some shootin'
