OMG boys! Check this out ... it's a nice one ... U.S. sales only ... unfortunately I'm in Canada ... might be able to get it for cheap if the bidding doesn't go too high ... comes with a case!

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=320238880442

Yeah.. I bid on that bass last time it cam up. I was winning and then someone bid on it in 50 dollar increments until my auto bid tapped out, then it was it was won at 10 dollars over what I bid. Seemed pretty suspicious...and now it is relisted saying that the winner did not pay. I tried contacting them twice with no response. I'm thinking someone:eyebrow: was trying to see how high my auto bid would go and then stopped at 10 bucks over to then allow me to bid one last time for the win...but I wasn't havin' it.:spit: It was listed before that with a buy it now too.

Oh really?

Anyone care to comment on how the warranty process went and if Ibanez is easy to deal with? I'd hate to be out this bass for more than a month. Though, its not like I don't have 4 others to keep me busy, haha!

I dealt with a store that at first tried to have their repair guy fix it - came back WORSE :)

They sent the whole bass back - said it COULD take up to 5 weeks as Ibanez in Canada was back ordered heavily on ATK 305s. However, they had two already on order and gave me the first that came in 2 weeks later.

Luckily, this new one was (a) FAR better fretwork wise, (b) has no neck issues, (c) is noticebaly LIGHTER (woo hoo!) , and (d) feels/sounds much better - no fret sprout or weirdness, KILLER B string (once I replaced the Elixers - these detroyed the tone, especially for the B - all IMO of course, but I HATE those strings.)

I am thrilled - this is the nicest ATK I've tried (better than my old 90's 305)

Not sure this helped regarding warranty, just happy :)

Lookin good guys. Make sure to get some of those decals from MarkusBass! haha I still have to get some to put on my case. I would also recommend the ATK1000C case that Ibanez makes. it is a PERFECT tight fit with a large compartment for 2 instrument cables, wireless transmitter, power cable, in ears, and 2 cables from bass to wireless. i was really surprised. and then some space in the headstock area for my strap. its a little pricey...but its well worth it. so in case anyone had questions about that case model, ill assure you its perfect for the ATK

Thanks for that - I have been wanting a hardshell for some time. Thing is, on the Ibanez site, it does NOT mentuion the ATK as a model it was designed for, which is ironic given (a) the ATK in the model name, and (b) the fact you have found it fits great :)....only specifies EDB and BTC basses...weird....

In fact, they listed THIS on the Canadian site:

W50BTB
for BTB, ATK,JTKB

Yeah I was very hesitant to buy one, but got a GREAT GREAT deal from my friend, the local music store manager. it really is worth it. its not the "coolest" looking interior, but its a maroon soft carpet, and the bass is just snug. also my latches arent too loose, and arent too tight. it feels secure, and of course since the ATK is a heavy beast of a bass, naturally the case is too, a perfect compliment :)

Yeah, didn't really help at all. Haha.

The neck did give me some relief after sitting for a couple days and is definitely playable now. I just don't know if its within Ibanez spec. Because while its enough relief to set the bass up and have it play well, its not as much relief as I can get out of my other basses. So I'll probably have someone look at it and see what they say.
