that is really depressing to hear :( mine is from 95 and its a freaking solid rock, and theres no problems. I guess its a classic and unfortunate case of bad QC. Ive played a few of the new ones and the ones ive played have been set up VERY nicely and had no issues. im sorry yours is so bad for you :( if you ever get the chance, try an older model

I'm one of the guys that Bassist 4 life mentioned having problems with the ATK's. Although I think the issues are limited to the Korean ATK's. I've returned two ATK's due to various neck and truss rod issues. I'm on my third ATK and I still have some minor fret buzz issues with the first and second frets.
Just be aware if you are looking at getting a Korean made ATK to inspect the neck and make sure that it is setup to your own preferences, truss rod adjustments have not been easy with any of the ATK's.
Don't get me wrong, I love my ATK, but it's more of a love/hate relationship. I love the multiple tones I can get, but the quality bugs me quite a bit.

I just got my ATK305 last week and I am loving this thing to death. I wasn't stoked about the natural finish until I actually got my hands on it, and now I think it looks absolutely fantastic. I'll post some pics once I get my band's promo-shots from our photographer (tomorrow sometime) .. we got some sweet pics of me holding my ATK :)

FWIW, the USA Custom ATK's do not have a truss rod, per se. They use the same 'stress free' neck construction as the new Henman-Bevilacqua basses. Check out henbev.com for the deets. Scotty Bevilacqua was the 'ghost builder' for those USA Custom ATK's, btw.

I know that. I have one. I was just simplifing it because he was looking for something to look for to narrow down where the ATK he was looking at was made. There is info on Bunker's site too.

Ok so today I raised the pickup a little bit and since I was already there I reversed the pickup and the ATK at least in my ears sounded a bit better. If any of you guys get bored or want to experiment could you check it out? since I dont trust my ears too much and my combo amp isnt good enough to check for differences.
