:eek::eek:I'm actually thinking about selling or trading my USA ATK 305 again. I just don't play it that much anymore. Anyone what to talk me out or into it?:-):hiding:

Dont do it man! I say sell your otyher instruments and play the ATK exclusively, thats what I do and it makes me appreciate it even more each time I play it. but if you really had to sell it....id glad send you a few bucks for it ;)

My serious advice is don't get rid of it!

I don't know how many instruments you have, but I always seem to fall in love with something, then after a few months it drops into the background... And then a few months later, I pick it up again and BAM! The love is back. And that's a pretty unique piece of ATK you have there... You're not going to be able to get another one the same quickly, even if you're willing to part with a kidney for it!!!

I know guys! Very good advise. I'm just not sure. I've been playing my Fender Jazz a lot lately. Switching back to fingerstyle after using a pick for years and just don't get that in your face midrange growl I'm used to. The Jass does have more mid range when playing fingerstyle. The ATK does have more low end balls though. On the fence.:hiding:

The secret is:
Don't be exclusive! Keep the J, well, because it's a J (I wish I had one!) and for fingerstyle, and keep the ATK for when you wanna use a pick. And having previously been an exclusive fingerstyle bassist, I can now attest that there are some times that the driving downstroke pick is the best thing for the song... You're doing the song a favour by keeping your ATK ;) Doing it for the song, man!:hiding:

Man, now you have got me wondering...maybe ill do some recording at various settings with the pup regular and reversed and see what I like. Although if I crack it open, Im gonna be tempted to gut it, copper shield it...then put it back...haha modding ocd

Hi to all from greece! I want to buy my first bass, and i want to get an ATK. The problem is that i can't find it in greece at all.I went to a local store , and called Ibanez, and they told that they don't sell it here.So , i don't know if it is a good idea to buy it without hearing it first. Money is not a prob here, i just want a bass that i can play and not get dissapointed in it in some months. And plus, 5 string or 4 string????(i tested some 5s and they were better in my hands)

I have to add, that i played with a fender precision made in japan, and it was great on my ears and hands. If this atk is 50% of the fender in playability and sound , i will be more than happy ;)
Thanx in advance

that sounds like an interesting weeknd :D

yeah for a fact it changed the sound and not for the worse. But since I did it on a whim I cant verify it until somebody else do the same.

daemonicus, I bought it without playing it, well at least I heard it before in some offspring albums, but I havent regret it , is in fact better for the rock/alternative music I play, and that is playing it on my 14 year old bought used fender combo, that has been abused so much sometimes I purposely leave it outside in the back of the car taking the summer heat for a whole week to kill it, but it keeps working fine. I love that fender for that and hate it because it weighs a ton and always give me this nut busting feeling the next day.

In a store in my city, i found a btb405qm and i played it and liked it. He gives it for 550e.
And the ATK305 for 533e. So, what is your opinion??? Take the one that is already on the store, or order an atk ???
