anyone care to help me on how to contact ibanez? im really sad because this bass has truss rod problems, adjustments dont have alot of effect on it. the bass buzzes horribly around the 18th fret. ughh ='[!!!!!! i ordered it online from zzounds and i live in the middle east, perfect >.>.
Still having problems with the ATK? That sucks. I really feel for ya. I had the same problems with one of the ATK's I returned. Maybe they sent you my old ATK?
Anyway, your best bet is to go to Ibanez's website and find every single contact method that you can find and start plugging away at them until they get back to you. Best case scenario is that you send back the neck and they send you one in return. Otherwise you should start researching neck problems and try to diagnose the problem the best you can. It is possible that you may need to add a shim in the neck heel of the bass body between the body and the neck to give a slight more angle for clearance. That's just off the top of my head. Do some more reading on neck shims so you have a good idea of what I mean.
Plus you might want to start another thread as well. Explain your problem and take as many pics as possible to show the rest of us so we might be able to help diagnose the problem. We love puzzles!

I need a number. One thing I must say that when I first got mine it really did not have that much output then I read on here were you can turn the preamp up. Mine was about 1/2 way now its all the way up and really is a beast.

Okay, my ibanez ATKs truss rod wasnt responding to adjustments, so i decided to take the bass apart and look at it. Ok first of all, this bass has the musicman wheel of fortune style adjustment thingamajig.

Now, when i took the neck off, i noticed that the wheel of fortune thingy wasnt even screwed on right, it was like bent, like this : \
i think thats what the cause of the problem is, it wasnt screwed on right.

when i backed it up and took it off so that i can put it back on the right way, i noticed that this thingy on the truss rod, kind of like this gunk type of goo, its not even like a flat substance, its like 1.5 cm in depth length and width, ill take pictures in a sec after i have dinner.

That just doesnt look like fun....maybe it was supposed to be there to glue the wheel onto the screw? i dunno i would suggest taking it off and getting that thing screwed on there correctly. could just be poor QC on that one :( sorry to hear man.

So I walk into the local pawn shop. Kinda not looking for anything, but thought I'd stop in.

What's hanging on the wall? An ATK 4 string from the 90's.
Auburn natural woodgrain. Maple neck and fret board. Dead battery. Deader strings.

Now it's clean, waxed, restrung with DR Fat Beams. Action lowered, intonation set.

Killer looks and sound!:bassist:

Now the USATK has a brother!

Camera phone pix for right now. I will take more later with a real camera.

I checked out a used black ATK300 over at Starving Musician/Santa Cruz yesterday. I'm not sure about what year, the serial number was C5101903. Otherwise OK with some dents here and there, so I suspect this is a 10 year old bass made in Korea. Anyway, in case someone else is interested, check it out.

I'm actually trying to find a 2006-08 ATK300 or ATK3EX1 with rosewood fretboard, as I prefer rosewood to maple, so if someone knows of such a bass available here in the Bay Area/SF, send me a PM. --Kent
