But on a serious note, I have a question. If you play on the low e string like the first 3 frets, do you get a little buzz. It might just be the action i might have to adjust.

no I do not have that problem, I guess its an action issue, although my action isnt particularly high either. could be a combo of action, neck, and even strings. if you ever get a chance, try the Dean Markely SR2000s (I love them!)

The 300 was much the worse for wear when I got it - but it was a great deal. It was covered in stickers, bashed about, one of the tuners had a couple of its screws stripped, and it was dirty beyond belief! I think the previous owner (who was a good guy to deal with) probably played in a sweaty punk band. I got it with no pickguard, and while the guy said he'd find it and send it to me, he never did.

I'd like to do the clear PG thing like the old ATK500's, but I have too much on my plate to figure out how to make one!

I understand. Tell ya what, if I ever come across a piece of plastic or what not, I will make you a pickguard, just send me postage and Ill ship it to you (it will give me something constructive to do other than be on these forums all day!)

I do get alot of rattle on the E string on mine. But what the issue was/is the nut is cut too deep i think. Either way, a small tab of paper folded over itself a few times sorted it out

Cut my own pg for this one - thinking I might try it with a tort guard now I have one for a template. Tonally, for heavy stuff it's outshone by my Thumb - but it does the rock thing very, very well.

These are some nice looking basses guys. I am a Stingray man through and through but I still think the ATK is a fine bass and a fine looking instrument at that; when you factor in cost they are amazing!

The ATK's definately represent great value. High end sound and looks without the high end price tag.

Yeah, its 16.5mm and I personally like it a lot.

I never gave Ibanez much thought until I found out about these basses. Now I want to get a BTB. Maybe next year, haha.

Given that it's my first 5 stringer, I quite like it. I don't think it's too tight. I play a bit of both finger and pick and haven't really needed to adjust much compared to my old Roadstar II (4 string).
