I get what you're saying but it doesn't exactly address my issue (not really an "issue" though as I am satisfied it can all work fine).

I realize that BF cabs are good cabs with good sensitivity, as I own three (BB2, Four10, One10.) However none of those I own are 12 ohm. I am comparing apples to apples -- BF cab to BF cab-- and the 12 ohm model will produces 2/3 of the power of an 8 ohm (of which there is no 8 ohm Two10) and even less by comparison to the 4 ohm model Two10. Comparing them to lesser cabs which they can beat the pants off of even with higher impedance-- doesn't change the 2/3 ratio for BF cabs. As I mentioned, 12 ohms out of my MB 200 is only 93 watts. The min recommended power for a Two10 is 100W. My TH350 will give me 117 watts, which is marginally above the min. recommended power So, it's not as though there are no potentially tangible effects (for me) of running a 12 ohm cab by itself.

However, after some thought yesterday, I have concluded that, for me, this is not an issue since I can bring the MBF800 which will give me 268 watts into a 12 ohm cab-- right in the middle of its recommended range. Yes, it's a little bigger than the MB200 or TH350, but not by that much.

Realistically, for me right now, I don't need more than a Four 10 or a BB2 as stand-alone cabs (they are so sensitive!), for most mid-to-high volume gigs (One10 still great for small stuff). Someday, ideally, it would be nice to have a 12-ohm Two10 cab (to use stand-alone or as an add-on to the Four10) and a Super Midget (to use as standalone or as an add-on to the BB2) for outdoor stuff where PA support may be lacking or non-existent. These are on my "eventual" list, if I live long enough to "eventually" do it.

Four10, BTW, has 38% more speaker cone area than a Big Twin or Super Twin. It's a beast.

It is a shame that the Two 10 is not switchable between 12 and 4 ohms. I assume that the speakers are the same so it is simply a switch between series and parallel wiring, and Alex does provide a swap in back plate for owners to change impedance. It is possible that there is a certain amount of complexity in this due to the crossover which sends one pair more highs, though. I would happily pay a premium extra price if a switch was available on the back between 12 and 4 ohms.
On reflection I think the answer for me will be to buy the extra crossover plate when I order a Two 10. Most of the time I would be using it at four ohms, but if I wanted to double up with the Four 10 I could simply swap the back plate.
All this, of course, assumes that I would actually need two more speakers on the Four 10 for big gigs as I have yet to really let it crank. It just does not seem to even sweat so far as I turn up. My head is still in that space where you can only push more air with more speaker cone area - I keep forgetting that Alex has designed an alternative approach to this. I suspect I may well be pleasantly surprised next weekend and the Four 10 may be all I will ever need.

I expect you are right. This cabinet is simply so stunningly good for my purposes that I want to have it available in every size for every gig. It has blindsided me. A very long time ago I had a similar experience when I played my first SVT2 nonpro into a fridge. The marvel of the Four 10 is that I can get that tone and lovely sense of tube compression at the bottom end at much quieter volumes. It is a small cabinet that sounds unbelievably huge. No doubt others have been through the same experience with Barefaced speakers across the range.

don't get me wrong as I really appreciate your efforts to get it shipped but I've had no updates from you since 11 May when you let me know of the problems with shipments. I sent you email asking for a progress but had no reply. I would appreciate if you let me know what's happening since I paid the deposit 5 weeks ago and the item was first scheduled to be here a week ago by now but it never happened. All I ask for is a bit of communication, it was not a problem when we were negotiating the type of cab I was going to order so I think a short note with update from your side could be an easy fix:thumbsup:

Absolutely, always have hope, especially when Hope looks like this. In fact I'd like to do a Hope Solo. And by that of course I mean playing an uplifting and encouraging solo on my bass guitar.

So this past Sunday I had to use my One 10 at a gig for the first time. I bought this cab primarily to use for practices and have not had a reason to use it at a gig over my Bergantino CN112 (or NV115) other than mere curiosity. Well I drive a Miata and I had to pick up the little Bose system that my gypsy swing jazz band uses for vocals. The Miata is quite limited in what it will hold so I opted for the One 10 instead of the CN112. Mostly acoustic gig at a small restaurant, 2 acoustic guitars through small amps, vocals through the Bose and my rig. But I have had good experience in this room before, a hard brick floor and high wooden ceiling where I could get a good low end.

I must say, the One 10 did great!! Plenty of low end, biggest problem was not getting too loud with my ToneHammer 500. Lots of compliments from friends who said the band and my bass sounded great. So I am having fewer and fewer reasons to use or keep the Bergs, other than the fact that I would take a beating on selling them, especially in this town where no one knows what they are (just bought those last year).

The One 10 seems to work best on a hard floor, hardwoods, concrete, brick, etc. with the port pointed down. For whatever reason that seems to produce a better bottom than when it is sideways.

Good to hear.

I certainly noticed the extra low end with the sideways port orientation.
