Official Barefaced Bass Cab Club

Hoping to get the BB2 PA a gig-volume test, soon. It really sounds good at moderate volumes, and I'm looking forward to pushing it harder. I've been running various tracks through the rig; some iTunes library music, and some drum machine and synth sounds, as well as my bass going DI into the mixer. The Behringer 6,000 watt amp has paired well, so far. Now I need to see how it kicks when the levels go up.

I'm afraid not no, whilst I'm sure that the new cabs will be great I'm very happy with the FR800s for guitar use. Less gear for me!

If time and distance weren't issues, it'd be interesting to compare the FR800 to my BB2 & amp rig.

Let's just make this easy for everyone. You can both bring your rigs to my place and give 'em a proper comparative test. Only 3,700 miles for you Jack, and a mere 1,974 for you, monster.

I have a crush on Barefaced-as-PA but can't afford to take her out on a date.

I'll likely be in Norway and Spain in July. I'll see if I can route through your neck of the woods. Not sure I can bring my cabs.
I may be performing in Oakland when you are in San Francisco, so maybe we can get 50% of the way there :)

Normally I'd reply with something like "we play basses here, not toys"... however, that's a Telecaster. Telecasters are exempt from being mocked. Telecasters are beautiful and cool and they sound fantastic. Telecaster is what a bass would be if it decided to become a guitar.
I like Telecasters. A bit.

Hey there, I was wondering what tweeter settings you're using for PA use...where does it sound most 'natural' ?

I thought I'd run it nearly maxed out, but my ears like the setting backed off a tad. With the crossover all the way up, the dial is at about 10:30/11 o'clock. Once it gets backed off to noon, it gets closer to "natural" to my ears. I'm probably settling with it around 1 o'clock.

It's about the loudest small cab you will find. I play a Shaw B150 through a four10 and it has quite a bit of beef. Personally, I would go 610 with 100 watts.

Now, with 600-800 watts that four10 gets crazy loud.

Crazy loud is not needed, but crazy beautiful sound would be nice. I only play in small places and stand right next to the bass amp. I am more interested if 100w V4BH will drive the speaker enough to make it sound right
