From your amp list, I have the D800+ and it's a very good combo with my Two10 and my SuperTwin.
I'm not a fan of tweeters, but also don't want a dark tone, so these cabs are very good for me.
The bright switch on the D800+ gives me the perfect amount of top end adjustment for my needs (I'm pretty much a fingerstyle with a bit of pick kind of guy).
Admittedly, (and most unfortunately) I have no experience with a BF cab with a tweeter. My other cab leanings are Baer and Audiokinesis Hathor's just for tonal reference.

It's all a matter of taste, isn't it? If you dig Ashdown, then your Ashdown will sound awesome through any Barefaced cab.
Take in mind that the 10" line have some colour in them, while the 12" is very neutral. It's all explained (thoroughly) on the Barefaced website.

Btw, i'm running a Glockenklang Passenger head on my BTII. I play double bass and aim for a neutral acoustic sound.

There has been waaaaaay too little activity on this thread!

I am a very fortunate man to be able to say I've finally found what I've been seeking.

Left to Right:
Alembic Epic, Fender Highway One (slightly modified), Bergantino Forté, Barefaced Two10S, Barefaced Super Midget, Barefaced Big Baby II, Fender Mustang PJ, Fodera MGS std. With a combination of this gear I can cover almost any gig, any setting, any FOH support situation. Couldn't have done it without my BF cabs.

Barefaced is not only a great company to deal with but their products are undoubtedly the best I've played. (FWIW) Thank you Alex and everyone that puts there hard work and effort into providing us with such outstanding products and service.

Let's see some Barefaced rigs!

Received my Two10 last night, and after unboxing and plugging in, first impressions are good. I'll get to gig test it tomorrow night providing it doesn't get rained out, so I'll have a better idea of what it can do after that.

My other impression after unboxing was "wow, this thing is WAY bigger than the One10!" What isn't, right? But for a 2x10, it's very lightweight as expected. I just hope I don't regret trading my One10 :)

I was using a 2x 112 TKS cabs, very light weight, as my 'small and portable' rig... but the Two10 is pretty lightweight too, so I pretty much just use the pair of Two10s now...

Of course everyone's experience can vary, but I don't think you'll regret it (easy for me to say as I still have both). I find the Two10, so far, to be a great blend of portability and power. I can take it to any gig large or small and know it'll handle my business. The Two10 and SM are really a sweet spot.

I don't know how some of you guys do it.

I don't think of myself as a loud player, but I can't imagine a One10 (and probably not even a Two10) handling all my gigs. I often find out that there is no FOH support for bass, after I get to the venue. Sometimes I'm playing with a group where the BL wants the bass to be very dominant and keeps telling me to turn up. The Four10 can handle it, but with the big band, I don't know that the One10 would even be audible. And trumpets can't just turn down.

I have hopes that the BBII will handle almost any gig I have, but I much prefer to have too much firepower and not use it, to the alternative.

What are the differences between the SM and BBII? It looks like the BBII goes a bit deeper and has a nicer tweeter, but the weight difference is only 5 pounds. They use the same speaker, but the BBII can handle 200 more watts. What's the subjective difference when playing one vs the other?

The BB2 goes deeper, and it makes it sound better at louder volumes. I hit my comfort limit turning my SM up to band level, and it never felt loud enough. However, I had no issues with mt BB2 going plenty loud in the same room with the same band.

That said, at quieter volumes, I found a quickness/punch/feel in the SM that isn't there in the BB2. It was more of a response/feel thing than anything particularly different in the tone; almost like adding a transparent compressor. It is a subtle difference, not night and day. I do prefer the SM.

Obviously, the BB2 compression driver is superior to the SM tweeter, so if you play clean and bright, you'll get better quality and dispersion from the BB2, and the crossover will behave a little differently. Again, not night and day.

I'm running a pair of BB2 cabs as a PA, and I play by bass DI through them. I'm stoked on the sound. If you need more firepower, the BB2 is the no-brainer, as it will get your the BF 12" sound with extended range and volume available. I do still think about getting a SM, because I enjoyed playing through my old one for practicing.
