I have a question about the listed specs for the Super Twin/Compact.
On www.barefacedbass.com, they list the Super Twin/Compact as going down to 37hz, but www.barefacedaudio.com lists it as 30hz. I'm guessing that it's actually 37hz and the 30hz listed on the newer website is a typo. Or did the tuning change since the creation of the new website?

I was in a studio at the weekend and could try my Super Compact against an Orange 4x10 (huge, heavy). It was astonishing. The SC was thunderous and complex compared with the 4x10. Much deeper, much more three-dimensional sound. Just the one 12" cone in a box, but no comparison. I'd only half-believed the blurb on the Barefaced websites until now.
My band mates didn't quite believe things either when I first plugged in my BB2. Much looking around to see where I'd stashed the other cabs

Well, I just ordered a Bergantino Forte HP to sit on the BB2. Very happy with the Mesa 800+ but I am keen to hear what the Berg will bring to the party. Still think the Aguilar 751 will be my go to with the Four 10/ Two 10 combo.
This is really weird. So I have just received the invoice for my Bergantino Forte HP which is now on its way to sit on the BB2. The Forte HP serial number is listed as 00369.
So what you may say. Well, I just added it to my assets list and saw that the serial number of my BB2 is.....BB369. Totally weird coincidence.
I guess this match was just meant to be.

Please let me know how this works out. The Forte HP is the only amp that's caught my attention for a good few years.
Forte HP into the Big Baby 2 is a great combination. Here are the initial impressions I posted in the Bergantino thread, using BB2 and a Two 10s:
My Forte HP was just delivered, so I feel compelled to provide some very early observations - bearing in mind I won't be playing it in a band situation until the weekend. I also own a Mesa 800+, but won't pass any judgement on which is "better". Initial reaction on plugging the Forte into a Barefaced Big Baby 2 was that the Mesa is warmer and smoother (as I rather expected), but the Forte HP has massive weight and depth behind it and is louder into the 8 ohms Big Baby (again as expected, given the power difference). There are no winners or losers here, both great heads and I will be keeping both at this point.
Five minutes playing around with the controls on the Forte was enough to figure out its versatility, and at this very early point it seems the tone controls will be staying pretty much flat (12 o'clock) with the Big Baby, although I can see the HiMid getting dialled back occasionally if the speaker warrants it. This amp really does seem to suit the Big Baby, which gobbles up the 600 watts available into 8 ohms and sounds the best I have heard it. The low end weight leans towards that smiley face 70s tube amp sound which I quite enjoy when alone, although no doubt will need some tweaking with the band. Huge pluses to me are the high and low pass filters, they really do work well in a natural and intuitive way and are incredibly quick and easy to use in a way that I have not struck before. Similarly, the compressor and drive controls combine nicely to dial in a lovely tube-like tone, with punch the icing on the cake if needed. I briefly tried it with a Barefaced Two 10 but the tone initially did not quite shine like it did with the Big Baby, no doubt because the Two 10 does not have a tweeter which really demonstrates the detail available with the HP. I am sure that if I spend a little time tweaking it I can match it up beautifully with that cab too.
There are some sample settings on the Bergantino site, but many of them do not have all the knob positions filled in which is a bit disappointing. Nevertheless, the amp is pretty easy to get your head around so no worries.
I have been taking an Aguilar DB751 to most gigs recently, suffice to say that I think the Forte HP can take its place and still provide that huge depth and punch for which the Aggie is renowned.
So that is that. A few initial reactions after only an hour of owning the head. I am suitably happy and impressed, but of course there will be a learning curve and the true test in a gigging situation is yet to come. Anyway, thanks very much Jim Bergantino, you have made my day.
EDIT: Just spent a little more time with the Two 10s and simple fix of turning off the punch and up the bright made all the difference - another great fit.

Just thought I'd bump this thread up with a NBD (or new bass week, really) test with my rig. It's a Fender JMJ Mustang, and it sounds great through my pair of One10s powered by the MB200. Had the volume at about 10:00 and it was plenty loud for home purposes, so I know I'll have plenty of juice when I can safely gig again. And the whole stack is still shorter than a Mustang!
Good move. I use any of my gigging amps. Currently my home rig is a Thunderfunk 750 through 2 One10's. Even at front room volume it sounds amazing.
Alex doesn't like the SC/BB2 stack and I agree...there's something a little funny in the low end. 2 x SC sounds much better!
I almost considered that route. I just ended up grabbing a pair of BBII cabs, which I wanted to run as a PA. It was the right choice for me.
I don't think I've seen a SC + BBII pairing in the wild. If it has been done, it isn't common.
I was also considering buying a sc to run with my bb2, but came to the conclusion the sm/bb2 pairing is the way to go. Alternatively a second bb2 might be on the cards to double as p.a. speakers. Which brings me to another question - I know Alex says it is not possible to add a top hat to a bb2 after it has been built. Has anyone figured a structurally sound alternative to mounting one on a speaker stand?
Anyone know what lead times are for cabs right now? I put in an order for a Two10 about a week ago and got an order confirmation but haven't really heard anything else since.
