I believe this issue was due to the glue used and has been sorted for the last couple of years...

This unfortunate issue was addressed when we changed the tolex, the glue and the tolex process in late 2018. Lots and lots of tolexed cabs have gone out (including every Barefaced guitar cab) since then and they're AOK.

The original tolex was thicker than any I've seen on anything else (because we wanted more durability). The problem was that the adhesive wasn't compatible with it in the long term. I've lost track of how many different adhesives we went through but some years ago we thought we'd solved the problem for good by switching to "tolex glue" which was specifically sold to us by a tolex supplier as being the ideal product. It seemed to work very well. But then after a long period of time a certain proportion of the cabs suffered tolex shrinkage (from the glue interacting with it) which made the seams open up. Our supplier's response was that we should have done overlapped tolex joints, which seemed bizarre at best.

Since we moved to using a hot glue machine we've had no problems with shrinkage (this glue contains no chemicals that could react with the tolex because it's a totally different sort of glue). I think we've had one case of some tolex coming slightly unstuck and the one I can recall was a hidden part on the inside back of an AVD guitar cab - the customer stuck it back down by warming it up with a hairdryer and pressing on it. Hot glue is bloody marvellous!

As mentioned before from others, it sounds great. Although I'm using mine with a passive 4 string P with no effects, so your results might be a bit different. And no issues with peeling on either of mine.

Thanks very much for this info. It makes me very happy because the sonic qualities of the One 10 are amazing and the finish issue was my only complaint. Eventually I'll end up with another "magic lunch box".

Got my Big Twin II early in December. I've played through it 5 times and all I can say is believe the hype. I bought this to replace my beloved Aguilar GS 412, which is too heavy to lug around, so I decided on getting a 2x12. Got a Markbass New Yorker 122 and it sounded ok, but when I would dime the master on my Quilter BB 802 the cab would get all flubby and farty. Sold the Markbass and ordered the BT2. It sounds amazing and can get amazingly loud, every bit as loud as my GS 412. I've played it many times at home in my bedroom studio (can't crank it because it may cause structural damage to my house) and the 5 times I mentioned above were in a rather large TV production studio, where I cranked the crap out of it. Very impressive, Barefaced!

Can I get a number? My One10 just arrived. I had to wait FOUR DAYS for shipping from the UK. Ugh.

Yes, it arrived on either Wed or Thurs if I remember correctly. I've only had a couple of hours on it so far, I think it must need more play time for the speakers to break in/open up yet though to get the best out of it. I'll update once I decide what I think. I'd imagine you won't have to wait too long now!
