The amp can usually do it. The cabinet may not be able to take it. Just keep in mind, it takes gobs of power to drive subs and have it sound acoustically the same volume as higher frequencies. Just think of a 25w valve guitar amp. They are loud! Even an 80 watt fender twin is stupid loud. 80 watts of bass through a big twin or two bb3s is not going to keep up with a fender twin. I was more thinking about how much capacitance you would need in the output stage to allow for a bigger instant power reserve than what the transformer can give you, no ?
But I chose CS over EE over 30 years ago so I could just be plain wrong about what I vaguely remember reading in the amateur electronics magazine of those days
It's just too far away and I never got any opportunity for a refresher unfortunately.Musically yes. slap that e-string... that thud is most likely less than 40hz. There are other noises that can get picked up, especially if a piezo pickup is in play, that are all over the spectrum.

Are they comparable, and do you get "that sound"?

I have no horse in this race but I don't think the goal of Barefaced's 10s is to sound like Ampeg 10s. If you want the sound of an Ampeg fridge, then get an Ampeg fridge. Your ears will just have to convince your back that it was worth it
I regularly run a Barefaced 610 (Two 10 sitting on a Four 10) and used an Ampeg 810 for many years. They are "different and similar", and if you really want an Ampeg only Ampeg really does that sound. Based on my own experience the Barefaced 610 goes louder and deeper than the Ampeg 810, the fridge is more midrange dominant although you can play around with eq for both speakers. Obviously the Barefaced is considerably smaller and lighter. I think the Barefaced owns a room in a way that I prefer, the Ampeg might punch you in the chest but the BF is present more evenly throughout the space and frequencies. I sometimes thinks it needs less apparent volume than the Ampeg fridge to achieve the same spread, if that makes sense. Hope this helps.
It is a tribute to the design methinks. My band mates love the spread on stage and around the room the balance is nice and even. So much so that I often don't need to go through the foh even when the others are mic'd. Love my Six 10, although to be honest I am considering using just the Four 10 next gig. I also have a bb2 and sm but keep coming back to the tens.Is that good or bad ?

I posted a couple pages back about ordering my Barefaced cabs, finally, after about a year or so of mulling it over. I knew I wanted a super twin for it's portability and capability but coming from an SWR Megoliath I was worried that it might not do what I was looking for it to do. So I emailed and asked Alex about adding a Super Compact on top just to cover my bases. I'd rather have too much than too little. He mentioned he'd been thinking about doing a single version of the Super Twin so people could stack them perfectly. He asked if I wanted to be the first to own one and I said yes. I asked Alex if it was OK if I were to post about it and he said I could so I guess I will be the proud owner of a Super Twin and a Super 3rd (Not sure if that's the final name). Not sure about the details but I can tell you I am super excited to get these in hand and put them to the test, which I absolutely will with my band. It will probably be a couple months before I will have these in hand but I will let y'all know how everything works out with my Bergantino Forte HP.
I never understood why the Barefaced 12" cabs all had slightly different width and depth measurements. Just different enough to be annoying to try to stack them. Looks like that would also make manufacturing easier.
Yes, I'd like Alex to explain. I guess the size and shape of the cab have a huge influence on the tone, so if you optimize the design of each cab in order to achieve specific tonal goals, the range is not very stackable, and if you want to make all cabs easy to stack, you have to make compromise regarding the tone.

Manufacturers making one size fits all cabs. I really think the super 3rd could fill a certain role in their lineup. I don't know how many people are in the position I'm in with an overall need for maximizing sound vs. portability but I think it's a great addition. But if I'm the only one that buys one I will still be super psyched.

It is still unclear to me from the website whether or not the Super Mini T is simply a renamed Super Midget or a new design. Both are listed in different parts of the site but there is no specific information that I can find linked to the Super Mini T.
