Official Carl Thompson basses club thread

Oh wow. These days, pictures make me crazy. I gotta think that this batch or one of the next ones is gonna have my bass in it. The stuff coming out of the shop just continues to blow my mind. Congratulations and welcome to the family!!!!

thanks, as Carl would say, "listen kid, you're not getting a custom bass, you're getting a Carl Thompson bass."

This thing is wicked cool, I've started to really look at this and it's special. Brian I'm looking at how carl did the top woods, they angle towards the headstock, there were a couple basses Aaron has on the site from 2010 and 2011( 5 stings), this is something it doesn't appear carl has done for 10 years or so. This is making my top 5 CT's. Dan Armstrong electrics right...?
Also, about that angle towards the headstock... no stone left unturned when it comes to detail..

Brian at The Low End told me two were going to Japan and one was available, but this was last summer I sure its sold by now.

The Carl Thompson "Baldini" 1975 Battle Bass will be here Wednesday!! Can't wait to play it!

Brian B. from the Low End actually ordered 5 basses at once, which Carl obliged to, but at the cost of not taking any other orders from the average, middle-class, enthusiast/player.

It's hard to not have mixed emotions with that, but business guys are gunna business and well, Carl is gunna Carl.

Are you kidding, Carl got an order for 5 basses and your shaming him for cutting out the middle class and Brian for keeping him gainfully employed. I have absolutely zero mixed feelings, good for both of them.

Did I shame anybody? I have my bass already, it's fantastic. When I picked it up, Carl was excited to show me the order for Brian B., the progress on the rainbows, and he seemed happy. I'm happy for both of them.

Do I also have a list of working class musician friends with the same American currency as any business man, who's life dream is to make the pilgrimage to bass Mecca in a tiny basement in Brooklyn? Yes.

Did Carl have to stop taking new orders? yes. Do I feel bad for either Carl, Joe, Kelvin, or Brian B? No.
Merely just empathizing with the people who hold his instruments in the highest regard and are now being denied.

When did he stop taking orders? Did he start taking them again now that he's working on the basses for Brian? Just curious since I placed my order not too long ago. Hoping to place an order for a second here shortly.
