My B40 has a 5/8"/17mm string spacing. Not 19mm/.75
Interesting. I've never seen any specs for a Carvin 4-string with anything other than .75" (19mm) spacing at the bridge. Carvin only sells 4-string bridges that are 2.25" outside string to outside string. The Carvin web site doesn't list the B40 bridge specs anywhere I can find. The bridge looks identical to the SB4000 bridge, though, which is .75" spacing.
Somehow, I've got to think you've got a rare bass with different specs. That's pretty cool if it suits you well and is comfy!
