Mine is from late 1980, and I can pull it out of the case anytime and it is perfectly in tune, and plays perfectly! Hofner made (glued on) neck, and Carvin assembled.
Its had 3 sets of strings in its life, and all 3 have performed perfectly as well.
IIRC, its the most awarded bass brand in Bass Player Mag's history.
If it weren't so heavy it would still be my favorite bass. But I've discovered the feel and sound of Hofners, and now there's no going back! I only use my Carvin for recording - there's no equal for that!
I think you were right about assuming a weak neck... Got it out of the box and tuned up and its permanently fretted at the 11th. Relieved that and its got a nasty compound curve.
My go-to tech isn't going to be able to get me in for 2 1/2 weeks so if Carvin can't extend the exchange period so I can get this looked at by a quality tech, its going back..

Go ahead and reassign #138... I'm not going to put money into fixing an instrument that shouldn't require it. Its getting returned and I'm sticking with Yamahas.
I'm sorry to hear that, but I can't say I blame you for not waiting until after the 10 day trial period.
The only new Carvin I ever ordered (several years ago now) was a B5 (bolt-on) with a 1-piece Maple neck and Birdseye Maple 'board. It looked nice, but it turned out the neck was warped. Fortunately for the new owner (I traded for an LB75 'cause I didn't know the neck was warped), Carvin replaced the neck after I confirmed he was the rightful owner of the bass.
Area, someone suggested to switch out the tuners for black, but I think the silver color keeps the eye focused on the sweet matching headstock and sunburst, while also picking up the color of the fretboard inlay.

Wow, I'm really sorry to hear that! A 5 piece neck should be stonger than the typical one pice neck. That is a real bummer!!!
Of course you shouldn't spend money to fix a brand new bass. Carvin does stand behind their products, so if you want to have it repaired or replaced, that is an option. I wouldn't blame you one bit for just wanting your money back, though.
I must admit that I find it really difficult to get "Burst-Finishes" on a Photo the right and satisfying Way. "Photography" is my other Hobby beside playing the Bass. I have to experiment a little bit with different Lights and indirect Flashes....
Anyway. Today I´ve had the Time to test the LB75 for longer and I must say it sounds and plays like a Dream. I´ve made some Adjustments in Pickup Height and now it fits for me. Really great Bass. I like it alot.

Hello! I'm the proud owner of a Redline Series III R600 amp head, serial R610030. What a blast! Can I have a membership of the Official Carvin Club? And, am I the first member from Venezuela?
I bought the R600 used, but Carvin has a reputation of high reliability that only Peavey can match. But Carvin's approach really wins me over: versatility, power, no coloration, and low price.
Once I got it last December, I carefully opened it and got amazed by its rock-solid construction and modular design. I was able to remove every module very easily, and used a can of dry compressed air to clean it up. Also, I used an electronic cleanser spray in all knobs, sliders, and connectors.
It's been an exhilarating experience for me, because I've wanted an R600 head since the first generation was introduced. Not much people here know about Carvin, but everyone has been amazed of its features, tone, and price. Now I'm the one with the coolest amp in my band!
I also want to say thanks to the team at Bass Emporium who made everything to make my purchase as simple as possible, specially since they shipped it to my home in Venezuela without incident. There's no doubt I'll be doing business with them again.

Here's my 1994 LB75. Built in September 1994 and I'm the origional owner. Wilkinson Bridge, Sperzel locking tuners. This thing will rock your world. It's played everything from Rock. Pop, Country. Jazz. Etc. I still have ( and use ) the origional hardshell cast that came with it. It has served me well and one of my favorites.
And like one of the other posters said, it will stay in tune forever. I have played for over 35 years, and this is one of the best basses I have ever owned. And I've owned a few.
