Quick question for all you carvin owners on here.
I've been looking into getting an icon lately. I've heard the sound clip of the maple topped icon 6 on their website and all I can say is wow. can anyone compare the sound of the maple topped icons to the walnut topped ones? anyone have some good sound clips of a walnut Icon? thanks in advance.
I plan on picking up a summer job soon, so hopefully it won't be to long before i can join the club :)

Sorry slightly off topic, I will bring it back by the end of the post ...

In the pic is that some sort of Tech21 Sansamp device you are using as the preamp? My guess is that if it is a Sampsamp it has enough output to feed the Crown OK?

Do you run the Crown bridged? Pretty easy? I read the instructions online and it seems you use the menu to put the amp in bridge mode, use the channel 1 input, and use speakon channel 1 output. What it doesn't say is Channel 1 volume only is needed? Also will the signal/clipping lights show only channel 1 on the front or for both amps in bridged mode?

Back to Carvin now ...

I notice you have an 18" enclosure next to the Carvin LS 1503. Does the 1503 give you plenty of bottom or do you have to augment with the 18" woofer? Is the LS1503 ported or sealed cabinet?

Just curious as I am looking at the Crown poweramp to use for a fEARful I may order, but looking at your 1503, that may be a decent lower-cost option. I will have to ask the guys at Carvin if they can reverse the mid and hf drivers so if you wanted to have 2 1503's you could stack vertically, turn the top one upside down and keep the mid and tweeter in vertical alignment. The answer is probably no, but I will ask them.

Wow, the Flats have really started to loosen/soften up and now have that wonderful, often played broken-in feel, to them.

I have been playing the hell out of this bass every day. It's been four days since her arrival and I've played/logged no less than three and half hours per day on her.

Yesterday I played her well over five hours through out the day. And over four hours on Friday. I just love playing this bass!!! It's so much fun ....she's addictive.

Man, I sure wish Carvin would use this exact body and neck (same as used for the B40) and design/make a Precision Bass type model. Throw some Split Coils on one of these bodies and get a killer P-bass: My bass world would be complete.

Seriously, I can't stop gushing over how good this bass plays. The neck, the fretboard, the frets, the body itself........good god, it's so comfortable and fun to play.

I'm really taken back by how much I love this bass. I figured I would like it, but damn, I think I'm in love...lol:D

And these pickups are very good. Takes some tweaking with the settings on the amp and bass, but once you start to learn how to dial in the different tones with this bass; you are rewarded with really nice tones.

I'm definitely going to order another one. I can't help myself:D

I'm waiting on my XB76P to arrive from san diego this week. I will trade a pic for a number. Be on the look out for a "Quilted Ruby Blackburst"?? Does that sound right? Anyway this is my first Carvin and six string. PEACE !!

Well, here it is!! XB76P Plays smooth and silky. I am so glad that I didn't let playing a Brice stop me from getting a sixer.
I have six knobs and two switches. Can someone help a brother out and tell me what they do? I'm sure I can figure it out eventually, but I would rather spend the time bonding on a different level.
If it helps,the serial is 77207 How old is this bass?
I know it is asking alot,so let the bashing begin!! :)

Chuck, this is bassed off of my Lb70P. The two switches are humbucker single/double coil switches. The bottom three nobs should be bass, mid and treble active tone controls. Top(closest to neck) is volume, middle is blend between the two humbuckers and the last nob(near bridge) is a blend for the piezo pickups in the bridge. You can also pull out he volumne nob to switch between active/passive modes.

My LB76P has one humbucker and one SC. I'd love to hear a double buck sometime!

When i saw that this Bass had dual Humbuckers i knew the search was over. With 18 volts and this much pickup the tones range from "Below the Belt Lows" ( yeah,thats where you feel it) to Highs that make it worth learning Chords and using the flanger.:bassist:
