Wasn’t sure I’d like Buckeye inlays but they look really nice on this bass. Bass is gorgeous and plays perfectly with a killer B string. The DC pickups with coil taps and Tone control is definitely my favorite setup.

I’ve had a chance to play this bass live 6 times in the last 2 weeks and I’ve never had anything that compares to it. The tone is so tight, clear and punchy. The B string is in the top 2-3 I’ve ever heard and that’s from a 34” scale. It is so impressive that I’m literally blown away. Devon keeps raising the bar with his basses.

Well it’s official now with another Devon in the works. This bass should be a looker.

Looking forward to seeing this Devon come together. Buckeye, Cocobolo ,and other exotic tops are cool, but a classic AAAAA Quilted top is still my favorite especially the rare tube Quilt! I wonder if Devon would do blue quilt inlays that would look incredible as well.

I like that idea on the blue quilt inlays. I'm going to ask about that.

As much as I like abalone inlays I think the Quilt would look even better! Just my opinion, either way the Devon will be a stunner!

What do you guys think of these 2 finishes? I’m a little torn on what to get. The black burst and the blue.

Yeah I’m using your finish as the standard I want on this bass lol. Yours is the nicest quilt I’ve seen.

That black is pretty amazing too though man. Tough decision. I like that the blue in mine is consistent. It is not a burst per se.

You really couldn't go wrong with either one. I like the Bahama Blue-looking finish. But the Black Burst looks great too!

This is the process he uses to make the Blue or other Quilt tops pop. This is actually a before pic of the Bass Russ has I believe.

If this was my bass I would just tell Devon to put a high gloss finish over the grain enhancement finish LOL.

Well Devon went the extra mile like he always does for his customers and located me an even better looking Quilted top. This one is off the charts.
