just picked this up this weekend, got the amp and stingray for 1800 out the door. The amp is the LINE6 LD300, I am loving the tone of the stingray. I have been playing an Ibanez SR900, its nice but does not come close to the stingray.

Derek, from EBMM customer service, said this about those basses in 2003:

The Stingray EX is a discontiued bass Manufactured for the Japanese market by our distributor Kanda Shokai. The basses were built in Japan utilizing U.S. parts. An intresting feature is the Japanese decided to put back the old mute pads on the Stingray EX for a more historically accurate version. The basses were intended for the Japanese market only but with the advent of "webshops" they can be ordered all over the world including the U.S.

Finally got a halfway-decent solo shot of my Stingray, which I long ago sold off my Bongo to get the funds for:

TBer "arbitrary" likes it better than my Sadowsky. I'd say it's right up there, and much more flexible in terms of tone. I love it.

Does this mean I'm back in the EBMM club?

I really love my SR5 (already posted a pic). So much so that I'm GASing for another one.

There are so many beautiful things about an SR5. Build, Tone, Looks, Playability, String Spacing, The Neck Profile, and again, THE TONE.

It seems like every other day I fall in love with my bass all over again.
