Thanks for reminding me! I am trying to dissuade myself from buying that bass, because I have too many things going on right now. But man it is a cute ass bass! Yeah its not perfect, but there isnt anything seriously jacked on it. I saw a store in Brooklyn selling a Stingray that had a huge crack near the jack. Basically it had been dropped hardcore. And they wanted $950!
But about the blue sterling, I would rather not do a layaway, as that pretty much takes away all your bargaining leverage on the price. But then I might just take my Faux-bias Toby, Peavey Predator and Mackie 1604 down there and see what I can get.

Here is my Stingray. Not sure what year it is but I'm guessing it's newer because it does not have the curly maple neck, very plain maple. Great bass though, I'd love to find another just like it but lighter weight.

I just bought an MM Stingray 4 Limited ED with the envy green color and a black picguard to match the head. Its in mint condition! Played it at the store and found it was the PERFECT sound for ME. Plus its ill lookin. For $875 I got that, the original case,AND they threw in some DR Nickel Lowriders. I couldnt pass it up. Ill post pics as soon as I pay it off. MM Stingray +1 times 1,000,000

Two questions.

1. What's the difference between the (2 pickup) Stingray's and the (2 pickup) Sterling's electronics? I mean, would you get the Sterling sound if you bought Sterling's Ceremic PU and then wired them in series in the Stingray?

2. I noticed that most Stingrays do not come with the control plate cover at the back of the body, only the battery compartment. So... how the fish is one supposed to change the PU or electronics of the bass?

Thanks.

They have a control plate, it's just on the front... it's the crome plate that the knobs are placed on... screw that open and there you have all the electronics(just like all the other basses that are front routed)
