I personalized my Stingray.
It's now the Devilray.

I just ordered my vintage sunburst sterling with single humbucker and rosewood fingerboard. It should arrive by november!

It might be a little longer than that. I ordered my Sterling HS on 4/2 and I've been told there's still another two weeks before it ships (which makes for 5 months build time). Of course that was when they were still building the LE and 20th anniversary SR5s, so it might be faster for you.

Great choice going with the Sterling, you can't go wrong with an EB!

Whats with the cuts in the pickguards? You planning on changing over to the pickup cover style used on the HH/HS models and Bongos?

The cuts in the pickguards were so the thumb could have a bigger area to rest on. In retrospect I'm regretting this modification. There's enough space as it is. So the teal 'Ray will get a new pickguard. The SUB will not as it is for sale.

i wonder why it takes 3 months to get the bass. do they have to make it? I wonder why they don't just call another gc and see if they have one in stock. But i do like the idea of getting a hot off the press bass

They don't make it unless someone orders it.

Could be you, could be a guy at Guitar Center, but someone has to order it before they make it.

Just so's you know.

Heres some pics of my fretless 93 Stingray 5. Its trans red from when trans red was darker.
Anybody else hate the plastic battery covers?
Sure it's easier to change out batteries,
but it just looks cheap and out of place.
Happy with the nice chrome one on mine.

Looking at a blue dawn Sterling with maple neck at a local guitar store. Only $700, but I need to sell some gear to get it. Maybe they will do lay away?
Anyway whats my member #? Is there a membership booklet? Handshake?

I'm still playing my Ray5 4 years later. Out of all of my electrics-it gets the most play time.

When/if they come out w/the Bongo 6-i will have to pick one up. Not sure when, as i don't have the money.

Also-just getting several more EB basses sounds like a great idea. Maybe even some 4 strings.

I've been toying with the idea of a Ray5 HH fretless as a next electric, but i'm not sure if i'd play it all that much.

Boy, Jack...

The guy at the top of the page with the big collection... look at all that water on the deck. He is either pissing himself with bliss, or leaving them out in the rain. One looked all wet on the head stock... I'd be pissin' myself too, with a herd like that.

The other guy is the "why don't we do it in the road?" type.

All are beauties, every one of 'em.

My new SR5/HH arrived two days ago. Sunburst/Tort/Rosewood... I'm such a sucker for that color scheme.

You're talking about the one at Starving Musician, huh?

I saw that one too. If I were right-handed, I'd be all over it! It's not in the greatest condition ever, but she's still gorgeous. I'm not sure if SM does layaway, but it never hurts to ask!
