Hey guys! Got this beast yesterday, thought to share it with you :)
F-405FM, made in korea, 2008
Previous owner was treating it very good, it still has the original protective film on truss rod and back electronics cover!
It is 18V modded and has Buzz Feiten Tuning System installed.

I ordered the correct B-105 Chrome Bridge made by Sung IL from "Black Dog Music" in Great Britain and it just arrived this afternoon. Much much better than the chrome bridge I bought from WD Music. It is exactly like the stock bridge but in Chrome to match the Chrome Gotoh 707 tuners I bought a few weeks ago. Of coarse being the same bridge as the stock except for Chrome finish instead of "Black Chrome" that came stock it looks and works great. Fits like a glove and lots of adjustment on it plus more sustain than the WD Bridge. Very happy with it! Gotohs sure helped a lot in smoothness and tuning as they are 22:1 vs. 16:1 stock that came on the LTD B-5E.
I also bought some Ebony knobs from Stewmac that are very nice looking on this bass. :hyper::hyper::hyper::hyper:

My LTD TA-600. Right now I have that bad boy tuned down to BEAD. It plays amazing fast for a painted, 35" scale neck.

I was flipping through some youtube videos at some old songs/bands from the 60's when I ran across White Rabbit by Jefferson Star Ship and the bass player had what looked like a small cloth "bean bag???" draped over his strings to get that sound he wanted.

Maybe soon though. Here's why.

I have owned a Yamaha TRB6JP for about 12 years and have basically just noodled around on it. It's a gorgeous instrument but my hands have been fighting with that wide neck and 19mm string spacing all this time, and I really just don't feel like playing it. I was ready to throw in the towel and just concede to getting a 5 string until...

I took a couple of trips to GC and Sam Ash to look at what they had. Played some 5's and a few 6's. I started to realize that a narrow 6 string might be the answer. I was focusing in on an Ibanez SR506 based on Talkbass research. It was indeed very nice and much more comfortable than my Yammy. But I also tried an LTD B206SM in Sam Ash and holy cow! I could really zip around on that thing. My TRB just felt like it was holding me back. Nice bass, can't play it, what's the point?

I went back and forth between the SR506 and B206SM. Very comparable but there was just something about the ESP that spoke to me. Just felt that much more comfortable to my hands and was quicker to me.

I'm 99% sure that I want to buy the B206SM but I'm having one last thought before it becomes 100%. The LTD D6. There wasn't one in the store so I couldn't try it. It looks like the differences are in the woods, neck through vs bolt-on string through bridge on D6, and 34" in scale vs 35" scale. Electronics look the same. Has anyone compared the B206 and D6 directly? Any difference in accessing the higher frets with the neck through? Does the neck basically feel the same (34"/35" scale notwithstanding)? Differences in sound?

I this works out, the TRB will probably be going on the block soon.

So I think I'll slide in a new topic here for the club to discuss. What do you all think is the coolest bass or bass series that ESP released at NAMM this year? For me it's the RB series. Natural finish looks beautiful, the oval inlays have character, and it's loaded with Aguilar pups. P/J setup as well

That's awesome!! I'm getting my Gotoh tuners next week. Can't wait! Another thing, that has caught my attention, is the Neutrik Locking Jack. Any advice on this? How smoothly would it fit? And will it leave the screw holes of the previous plate visible on the B-5E? Will the entire jack fit through the current hole?

Those inlays do add character. Neat bass!

I've mentioned it before but I think that the addition of the AP line is pretty awesome, as it was previously Japan-only.

At first I thought it was the same model as the Japanese counterpart but I did notice a couple of subtle differences. The Japanese version has a compound radius and is 35" scale. The US version is 34" scale and whatever 305mm radius is. The electronics and hardware are identical. The list price is good too, you'd pay a little less than that for a used ESP Japan model.

I got a reply from Sung IL. They will allow orders if you own a business. I found Black Dog Music on Ebay and ordered a Sung IL Chrome B-105. This is a better bridge than the one I ordered from WD Music and of coarse an exact fit for the Stock "Black Chrome ESP bridge". Cost $41 with shipping from Great Britain and arrived in less than a week. I am a happy camper. Good Sustain, more intonation adjustment room and larger through the body holes. Now my bass is complete with Chrome Gotoh 707 tuners, Chrome Bridge and ebony knobs from Stewmac.com :bassist:
