Official Eventide Stompbox (H9/Factor Series) Club!!!

Here's the shootout:
Pitchshifting---a blind shootout for your perusal | TalkBass.com

The synth on the PF is okay but it's not really a "bass synth." I use it for flute sounds on guitar, and it can make some weird bass sounds. With the right tweaking maybe you can get something better out of it, but I wouldn't consider that a major selling point, more of a thing to have fun with.

It's my understanding that they are going to have a firmware update for the Factor pedals in the next month or two that will do the pre-/post-routing thing.
Thanks @Adamixoye I will check that out.

Do you have that info from Eventide?

So I was able to spend a few hours with the H9 update yesterday. I'm really stoked on the new possibilities.

CrushStation: The presets are clearly aimed at guitarists and did nothing to wow me. Once I dug in a bit and started sculpting my own tones I found a lot of usable tones. I wasn't trying to recreate any classic or mainstream sounds. I was able to make some fat sputtery synthish sounds by using a lot of Sag, Grit, and Drive. Putting a synth voice from the Line6 M5 or Zoom MS60B into Crushstation was REALLY HUGE sounding, I need to find a song to use it in.

Pre/Post Routing: As awesome as the new algo is, I am even more aroused by the new routing options. Once you wrap your head around the signal chain (and what to put in it) the possibilities seem endless. I've only taken the time to put the SA OFD in the loop, and that alone is so damn useful I have no idea how I got along without it. Obviously most of the tones will be night and day when switching pre/post, but now the only compromise is no stereo option. I never used that anyways. So far I prefer: Octave into dirt, Mods sound good and useable both before or after. Some of my pitch presets sound a bit fuller pre dirt. Reverb or reverse delay creates an awesome bloom pre dirt. The Ultratap preset Stutter sounds so cool before gated fuzz, same with Trem and Vibe.

I love both new parts of the update. My favorite part of the Line6 M9 was the ability to rearrange the order of the different effect types for each preset, even if the dirt and filters weren't that great. Almost the same ability is available with the H9 now. Woot!

Happy camper

I own a Pitchfactor. Love it. I've heard some complaints about the tracking. I think it plays like a dream. Sure, it doesn't handle double stops and chords, but that doesn't impact what I like to do.

I'm thinking about getting a Modfactor with my tax return, but the H9's are so compact and seem to get great reviews.

I had the Pitchfactor and Modfactor for a while before converting to two H9s. I would mostly recommend it, although there are a few small downsides.
