Official Eventide Stompbox (H9/Factor Series) Club!!!

Thanks for the info. I now have both a Core and a Max on the way. I'm very excited about them. I have been a fan of both the Neuro and Toneprint apps but they don't really work too well for me at gigs due to the interfaces. The Eventide iPad software looks like it'll be perfect at my normal four hour gigs where I have a shelf next to my setup.

I can't wait. I might be able to (gasp) downsize my pedalboard!

to me sculpt gets about 85% of the way there (e.g. OK in a pinch)

I agree that sculpt can get close, especially since you have the dirt component. Modfilter is good for sweeps for sure. But, nothing gets you that perfect fat envelope filter in the H9. For what it's worth, it's pretty much the same with the Mobius. The only digital envelope that was really good for me was the Manta.

FWIW, I think Sculpt and CrushStation are sleeper algorithms, worth more exploration. But be careful with that Sag knob, Eugene!

I've not yet really figured out Sculpt, but I agree that CrushStation has some really good sounds in it.

Good to know about the Mobius too. I couldn't get on with the Manta. I have a Wonderlove right now, which I'm liking very much, but if I could get close with an H9 I'd be happy. Still not there, so my triad of pedals (Wonderlove, Diabolik, Subterranea) stays for now. Not the worst thing and still loving the H9 for most everything else. Just seeing if I can simplify.

I went from a Manta to a Wonderlove. I owned the Mobius, H9, and Wonderlove at the same time and I don't think that the Mobius or H9 can get you most of what the Wonderlove does.

Octaver and Modfilter can both do great envelope sounds IMO. Octaver can get real funky too. I always liked the ADSR on the Modfilter LPF.

I used to cycle rapidly through non subtle PF and MF sounds for a bro step feel - there's definitely some skankiness hiding out in these machines.

Okay, so I'm in love. I've been messing arounnd with both of the H9s with headphones and my mind is blown.

And, I figured out how to leave my board wired for stereo while still being able to use it with my mono gigging rig. Pre/post routing. It seems so obvious now. It seems like pre/post is relatively new to the software. Is there another way to leave them wired stereo but only have it output mono?

I've decided to use the OX9 and the expression pedal with the H9 last in my chain, and to use a tap tempo switch with the first one.

The Nemesis into the H9s is insanity. So much fun. And, i have barely even begun to scratch the surface.

And, I love the IOS/Windoze interface so much.

I have a Sonuus Wahoo on the way to provide even more insanity to the board.

TTwo complaints that I've found online are that it doesn't have a dedicated Univibe and the aforementioned filter weakness. Between the Viscous Vibe and the Wahoo, I should have all of those bases covered.

Is that a clock?

Heh. 95% of my gigs are four hour affairs, do i thought a clock might come in handy and I had extra board space, so...

Experiment was a bust. Too big. My wife nite had a new clock for her nightstand.
Oh damn - I've never had a gig that long myself, but I see the benefit. Still, worth the Buck Rogers reference!

Anybody found a good solution for an isolator to use w/ the H9 in a daisy-chain setup? Apparently Godlyke and Diago have both offered something of the sort and may be developing newer versions which aren't yet available (Diago appears to currently have a 110mA max model, and in a prior post someone was possibly using that? But it shouldn't provide enough current?). Also on sfx sound's FB page there's a similar contraption which also apparently not available for order. So far I'm striking out...

The only one I know of that would work is the GigRig one.
