Well, if all goes well I'll be adding an AT212 to my lineup in the next week or so. Looking forward to hearing it, and enjoying its weight advantage. Also hoping it's not as fragile as I've seen and read in a few posts. I'm not hard on my gear but some of the materials look tricky. Especially the front top and bottom edges, the rubber feet and corners. Would love to hear anyones experiences with this box relative to this.

I'll be powering it with a GK MB500 and expect that to be a solid modern sounding pair. Anyone using this setup?

well, I had my 1st rehearsal room bash last Thursday with my AT212 'large'
Fair walk into compound, up a flight of fire escape steps, down a dark corridor (just setting the scene)
I carried my bass on my back, amp/cables in a shoulder bag, pedal board over other shoulder, and cab with at times 1 hand…. light is the WORD!!
So weight…. Check
Sound? Absolutely love it, will go clean or warm or downright gritty with the amp, volume at this point is not an issue, but we're a 3 piece bluesy rocky combo, Clapton/Petty/Frampton/ZZ/ even a bit of Priest !! so we weren't quiet
Handled all with authority and downright aplomb , I love this cab !!
Fragility wise? I think if you treat it with respect, y'll be fine , why would you 'abuse' a fine piece of technological achievement, and a fair investment, like a plywood carpet covered 1x15,4x10?? Hope you have a pleasant time with yrs, I can't wait till next Thursday ….

I'm leaning really hard on getting a pair of these full size 8ohm at212 cabs that setup would pretty much be perfect for my needs. I'm also in the camp of being Abit nervous on how durable they are tho. Is the top and back tolex on these if so that's Abit of a deal breaker for me. Tolex tears on me when I breath on it wrong and as spendy as these cabs are I don't want to deal with that. If that's the case I'm also looking at a pair of Schroeder 212 pl cabs and those have duratex finish wich is alot more durable and easy to touch up if need be.

I'm using just the 1, 4ohm AT212, at the moment it's MORE than adequate…. But 2x def sounds interesting!!
I bought mine with a cover, solves a lot of 'problems', and dissuades the cats
I intend to treat my cab like I do my Sandberg in its soft case , with loving care
GR have been great in the conversation I had with them re guarantee ….. 5 yrs and all I need to do is keep my purchase receipt
Good luck with yr purchase? If you can move past the understandable concerns that come with such a LIGHT WEIGHT cab, (and get covers), I think y'll be fine chap

I've just been trying some different amp sounds on mine using the VT500…. my, this cab can sound LARGE !! Controlled deep sounds, with nary a cab rattle, cant say the same for the furniture

Same here, 17 lbs has my attention, but a couple of things holdin me back are 1. Relationship with Bergantino is top notch. When Ive had any issues Jim is & has been on the spot about communications and always worked stuff to repair or completion. 2. Supply chain issues. Bad enough dealing stateside right now never mind overseas. 3. Id really like to hear and feel the cab myself just B4 plunking down that grand+!!! I'm only an hour away from Austin, so I'm willing to roll up there even with $4 buck gas, but with no stock Its currently impossible to really hear and feel one to give me that warm fuzzy Aahh feeling!!!

My thought process is I don't see any use case where a 2x12would be grossly overkill you add two of the 1x12 cabs together it's more expensive and about 8lbs heavier overall weight and a possible extra tip to carry. For me a pair of the 2x12 cabs could handle every type of show short of the arenas or big outdoor stuff and most of those type of shows have backlined ampeg fridges. Just my thoughts

This is my way of thinking as well. The 212Slim is so light that weight is no longer a factor so I would just bring that instead of two 1x12s, which would require extra shlepping and cables. Right now I carry my bass in one hand, the 212Slim in the other and my Quilter BB800 in a gig bag slung over my shoulder and move everything in one trip. I hope to further increase the ease and convenience when my custom made 212Slim combo gets finished. The total weight for the combo will probably be around the same as the two 1x12 cabinets, and I should be able to set up and tear down very quickly.

This is generally true.

But, in this case, there are two points to consider.

First, the 112 cab is only 17 pounds; and carrying two of them isn't a strain relative to the more typical 12's; and 34 pounds vs 28 pounds isn't significant for my schleps. But, I do get the one cab schlep thing. I'm doing that now.

Second, the AT112H is a larger front ported cab vs the smaller (per driver) AT212. So, I would need to actually hear both to better understand the differences. Without hearing both a 2x112 vs the 212, I would tend to go for the larger enclosure volume, purely based on experience. Could be that they are no difference.

It sure would help to have at least a couple US dealers with sufficient inventory to sort out some of these questions. I've had several email exchanges with the company about the two different drivers and power ratings in the different enclosures; because I actually think that having 212 + 112 as an option is desirable. But, the responses I received were somewhat confusing; which is one reason I'm considering the 4x112 more modular approach.

YMMV for sure. I currently run the Berg AE212 at most of my gigs, and am perfectly happy with everything about it; except that I'm reluctant to carry it up and down basement stairs, especially when getting back from the gig late at night. So, yeah, weight matters.

If you are planning on using three or four cabinets, you may also want to add the ONE 1400 amp to your GAS list. It has one preamp with two power amps that have separate volume controls. Each 700 watt amp can do 4 ohms. (I am saving up for it. I like a lot of power, not for ear piercing volume, but for the ability to produce a clean, very deep bass occasionally.)
I also suggest one AT212 regular (not slim) along with two AT112H because they will stack nicely if you require floor space. According to the specs, the AT212 goes a little deeper than the AT112H which goes a little deeper than the AT112.
I have an AT212 and IMO, it goes deeper than most cabinets that I have tried. I like the ability to do a very deep bass for certain tunes. (Yes, it makes me smile.)
IMO, if you play a four string with an HPF set at 50, you will probably not notice a difference in the bottom end between most speakers.

On the face of it, I was thinking the same thing. But, just a bit more detail makes things a little less clear.

The AT212 and AT112H do not use the same drivers. Used together, that would mean that you have different power levels going to the different drivers. To make things even less clear, the AT212 can optionally be ordered with the AT112H drivers; but, somehow the power loading is yet different from a pair of the AT112H's.:thumbsdown:

The whole thing sort of made my head hurt. So, I take your point; but digging a little deeper makes things a bit less obvious. Ergo, my thought about the modular approach using all the same cabs.
