Official GR Bass Club

I have a question about the amps. The specs I have seen thus far are for 4 and 8 ohm. It appears from my lousy phone that on the back of the amp it says something about 2.7 ohm. I find that odd if I am seeing it correctly. So a 2.67 ohm load would not be stable? I probably answered my own question but would it be okay to run 3 8 ohm cans with these amps?

I hate to be that guy but… how do these compare to modern GK cabs for sound? Anyone using a GK MB500/800 with the 210 or 212? I’m finding myself very drawn to the 212 AT slim but love the GK sound. Has a Berg CN212 but really never bonded with that.

Hi. I never had the "modern" GK cabs. The only one I did try was the RBH 410, which is a great cab but too "ampeg sounding" for me if you know what I mean. said that I owned the gk mb500 (prior to that I've had their flagship model, the 2001rb) for years and I was supersatifsfied. Lot's of clarity, modern sounding, hi fi etc... after years and years of beign an ampeg user I switched in search for more clear, hi fi, modern sounds. The GK, years ago, was the choice for me.
Then I wnet to ampeg, had the th500, the ag700 (which is an amazing amp) but then had the change to try GR... man... if you're looking for pure, power, clean, modern... well.. look no furhter. GR has all of that in the package + the amazing low weight.

There isn’t any 2.67 ohms switch. The amps are rated for a minimum 4 ohms. 3 x 8 ohms would be 2.67 ohms and not healthy for these amps.

New Amp Day for me puts me in the GR club.

I wanted a super portal head to take to rehearsals in my gig bag but still delivered decent punch. After looking at the Elf and Gnome I came across the Mini One. Picked one up in a Black Friday sale and had it delivered today - it's bloody fantastic.

Can I get a number??

Hello all!!
Went to Bass Direct last Thursday, where they had a 212 with a sign on , ‘Pick me Up’….. so I did
‘Crikey, this is LIGHT’ I thunk, so interest piqued, I asked if I could try it

Well…. the rest is history!! Apparently I had a wide beaming smile akin to a kiddies Xmas morning, oh my, what a sound!! It got used Friday on my mates Rush tribute gig as backline, absolutely nailed it , can’t wait to use it in Jan for own rehearsals
1st question, what are people using and enjoying for amplification? The VT Bass in the pic is on long term loan
2nd q, does the 5yr guarantee need product registration, or is it simply receipt based? ( I could research this, but it’s a conversation starter )
3rd q….
Can I have a number please?? ❤️❤️❤️

may yr holidays be peaceful, fun, and safe
All the best!!

I just got a call from John Files of Sonata Marketing, the USA distributor for GR Bass, with an update on my custom GR Bass AT 212 Slim combo. He says they are just waiting on some computer chips (like everything else in the world today) and then it should be ready to ship in January. Great! Hopefully there won't be any excessive delays with the shipping. But with omicron and other things going on in the world, who knows?? Still, I can't wait!

I'm also in talks for the Dual Pre and those shortage of chips are really a pain in the ass.
At GR they told me that they have lots of orders (thankfully) but they have to wait the chips :(

Has anyone compared the sound of the AT212 and AT212 Slim?
Does one sound deeper than the other?
Does the different porting affect the sound?

I've had the chance to hear them 3 times.
I own the AT212 slim. For me it was a better choice because it's more "compact" and has 900w so huuuge power. Soundwise I must say that I didn't hear any noticeable difference
