hmmm,, i've got a set of chromes laying around here somewhere,, along with a set of TI jazz flats, & a set of LaBella 760FL's,,, might have to do a flatwound shootout on mine someday
:)

..Still waiting on this one!
Would be great to get some trusted advice without having to spend a wad trying them all out ;).

Oh - I don't need a number just yet - BUT... I will be getting my H-One Jazz this coming January... planning a trip through Indy where there are 2 GC's and a Sam Ash to sit and try them out.

If anyone knows of another guitar shop or 2 up there - pass it on!

If a Hwy-1 jazz doesnt have a skunk stripe, does that mean theyre the ones with graphite reinforced necks?

That is correct. During the transition from "1" to "One", there were a few '06s that finished production without the graphite neck and other upgrades, but the absence of the skunk stripe is an indication of the presence of the graphite. Should also coincide with the '70s logo on the headstock.

Enjoy...they're tremendous instruments!

finally made a few mods to my 06:

the tort, ashtrays and thumbrest/pull are obvious, as are the q-parts knobs. TI jf344 flats with bill lawrence p-46 hidden under the pup cover and a vintage style bridge under its cover (i put the stock quan on one of my sx for now). greasebucket 'tronics replaced long ago with cts/sprague components. as usual, the honey blonde is difficult to photograph under artificial light:
