I saw a YouTube review of the Voodoo, fella was super creepy about running through the pedal but showed a lot of the different sounds you can get, I'll try to find a link to it. It seems like a pretty versatile little guy, and with a $40 price tag you really can't go wrong.

I posted a few sound samples looping a line and trying out different settings way back when in this club. might have been during part 1. Wasnt a youtube clip though just a quick soundcloud clip
I'll have to go back and look for it, any input on the voodoo I can get is helpful
Been playing with this American for almost a week. It is quickly becoming my favorite pedal. I almost want to leave it on all the time but for the songs I cover that have some dirt I freakin love this thing.
I just got the Voodoo. Had just about 10 mins with it yesterday. Lot's of good stuff, but I does, not surprisingly, loose some low end. Waiting for a blend pedal, to get some clean bass in there. Which I think will bee very cool
I have not AB-tested much, and I don't have the original MXR, but I have Muskding DIY clone, a Mooer Orange Ninety, an EHX Small Stone and the Joyo Vintage Phase. For my preferences, I range them:
- Muskding The Phaser, DIY clone
- Mooer Orange Ninety
- Joyo Vintage Phase
- EHX Small Stone
I have the joyo vintage phase, though it sits on the guitarist's board at the moment, since I didn't particularly like it. It's been described as more like the script phase 90 than the regular, as it is quite subtle if you have any dirt after it. The guitarist doesn't particularly like the subtlety of it, but he recently found himself without a phaser, and it's better than none.
I myself am not sure i like a phaser effect for my own playing at all, as it seems to make me drop in and out of the mix. I don't think that's really the Joyo's fault, though.

Yeah, I was just asking in case some people actually preffered the joyo to the MXR (unlikely, but possible)
Agreed. Own both and don't dig the Joyo at all. Kept it to possibly use on a guitar board but even then might not be worth it. Atleast in my area an original MXR phase 90 can be found cheap used so if I need another one I'd go that route. Joyo is too subtle and I don't like the intensity tied into the rate knob all in one.

I've been using my NM2 as an always on pedal, with the channel 1 for fretted and channel 2 for fretless. Love the sound I get, and it makes changing basses easier cause I get unity gain after the NM2 from two really different basses, but now I dont have a mild distortion anymore. I need something between my mild overdrive and wild fuzz.

Started using my "budget board" last night. British sound set as an always on clean tone, and American set as my dirt/grit. I picked up a used Digitech BSW for cheap, haven't decided how I will use it yet, but it has some great tones on it! Just deciding on a cheap eq.
