I may try and pitch this to Dan or the LOG higher-ups. I think it'd be an awesome promo campaign.
It would have to be funded by LOG members...we are having enough trouble gathering coin for the LOG bass givaway!!! Based on the response to date, it may not happen....and the LOG does not have enough cash in the coffers for such a deal...

Just picked up a sunburst 5-01 with a maple board. very clean and nice sounding. Even with the mk-1's in it. i might go for chi-sonics. those are great pups!

So - I "heard it through the grape vine"....uh sorry - hadda do it....anyways - I hear I am getting gruff for waiting so long to post pics of my new beauty......sorry it took so long....lotsa good excuses, but will not bore you with them...

here are some of the first pics....and what a better place to take them than in front of my new Digital HD TV (BTW: the Superbowl looked GREAT on it!):
sorry - my poor photography skills and the lighting do not do the color or MOP blocks justice.....she is really one of the most beautiful basses I have ever seen and does she have a temper!!!!
I played it at church for the first time on Sunday and I will have to admit, it plays better than most of my other Laklands...they are all good, but this one plays sweeter than sweet! John and Greg can attest to that...
after the sevice the sound guy came up to me ans wanted to know what I did different than before because this was the best bass he said he has heard me play yet (and he admitted that was something since he LOVES the rest of the stable)...she growls and has some GREAT tones......inds like a J bass on steroids.....
I am sorry that "Project Ebony" did not come to fruition but this is easing the pain ALOT!!!
now: Surf's up!!!! Post 'em if you can fit 'em in between mine!!!

Seriously, this is where being a freelancer sucks. If i brought home even *one* new bass, I'd get the Look of Doom and a stern talking-to about squeezing blood out of, er... stones...
My pink 55-07 is gonna have to wait. I have something else up my sleave that will be just as good!
