I believe this was mentioned before, but I'm just looking to confirm it. The F1 has the same preamp as the LMII right? The only difference between them is the type of power amps?

Just did bar gig #1 with this combo. Brought my 'big' amp too, just in case it didn't cut it. I already knew the cab would work, but I had difficulty accepting the idea that an eight pound box, roughly the same size/shape/weight of a cable box, could actually get the job done, with a drummer and guitarist who both play at earplug levels. They are both great, great players, but they are pretty loud.
I needn't have worried, the 501 killed it. Just killed it. Not only was it plenty loud, never more than half on the Master, but it just sounded great. Filled the restaurant/bar with killer tone(Jazz bass), with no PA support. Yes, 'honeymoon' phase is in effect still, but really, it worked absolutely perfectly. Deep, punchy, and clear-and the compressor is awesome, maybe the best I've ever tried.:bassist:

Just as an FYI to the thread...

I'm flying out tomorrow and will be at Musikmesse Frankfurt the rest of the week, and then I'll be flying to Italy the first part of next week to do a Markbass factory tour. Both on behalf of Bass Gear Magazine. I'm not sure what my connectivity will be like for the next several days, so if someone posts requesting a club number, it might possibly be late next week before I get to it, and depending on how many posts in general, I could also just miss it. So if you request a number over the next couple weeks and I don't assign you one by April 13th, feel free to PM me the post number and I'll respond to that post and take care of it.

Thanks!

Tony, I believe you are right. The LMII has the Class A/B, The F1 has the Class D. The pre is identical.

Sweet!

Obviously, we're all anxiously awaiting more info on the new product line. Can we assume you'll be collecting such info? :hyper:

What is the latest on when the Markbass stuff will be available in the US?
Not sure about availability yet. Maybe Peter could chime in on that. Also, I'm guessing we already know about all the new stuff this year per all the NAMM content already discussed here previously, but if not, yeah I update the thread. :)

Well, yeah, we know specs and have some cursory overview stuff, but nothing even close to a Bass Gear mag reviewer giving us the low down. ;)

I have bad news and good news.

Bad News - My LMII died yesterday night at rehearsal, it took out many fuses including the slow blow inside, I think there must be a short in the power supply. Anyone else had this problem?

Good News - The UK importer and distributor (Proel) couldn't be more helpful, they're letting me take it direct to them rather than the shop I bought it from (Proel are much closer to where I live) and rather than let me dig out the receipt for the warranty claim, they've spoken direct to the shop and got their original shipping number from them to verify its age.

OK I'm bummed at the LMII's failure, but I'm delighted at the level of service I'm getting and reckon my head will be back in action very soon. I hope you guys in the US get this level of service too.

For anyone looking to buy Mark Bass in the UK, rest assured the distributor will be right behind you if there's any problem.

There was a serious earthquake in central Italy this morning. As of now over 40 dead and a lot of damage. The Markbass factory is actually located in this region. Actually, Vic is suppose to be there right now, I really hope he's ok.
If anyone has any information please share.

Thanks for your concern, on behalf of everyone at Markbass. I've been in touch with the factory, and everyone is okay there. Obviously it was a big scare and L'Aquila (the epicenter) is only about 50km away from the Markbass factory. They are in a state of alert in case of aftershocks, but at the moment, everyone is okay.
Vic is arriving later today, so I'm sure he's fine.
Thanks again,
Peter

That's awesome news,thank you for sharing.Many haven't been so lucky...requiescant in pace.

Yep, our flight landed about 1:15pm local time here and other than some construction going on (which I don't know if it's quake related), it's a beautiful day. Sunny and cool, but not cold. Funny, I've been incommunicado for the last couple days due to some really lame internet support in the press room at Musikmesse, and no internet where I was staying, until I got to the hotel room today (long story). The cabbie was trying to explain something about a "tragedy" and "tremors", but we didn't know what he was talking about right away. STRANGE!!!!!

Thanks Peter!
It's a great relief hearing everyone in the factory is ok.
Unfortunately it seems many others weren't so lucky. My thoughts are with them.

Although our staff and factory are okay, our production manager lost his mother and several other family members, so we are all grieving for his loss. It's a hard and sad time for Markbass.
Thanks for your kind message.
