Official Markbass Club Pt. 2

Here is my home-practicing small rig:F1 Littlemark Series Limited Edition head that plays through the 15" Eminence speaker of my Hartke Kickback 15

whilst my concert rig is formed by the same head+ a Gallien Krueger 412 GS cabinet with 4 12" Celestion speakers

What's my number? :D

lovein all the markbass! too bad i can't afford a LMKII.............yet hehe. just an observation, a lot of Stingray players have markbass setups. I tried my stingray through a bunch of different head/cab combinations and noticed it sounded best through a markbass rig, i wonder why..........anyway, 1 of these days I will have a markbass rig! :bassist:

I have one of those heads. Not sure when they were made. I bought mine in 2005. They had a yellow head that is virtually the same. The red one is a limited edition F-1 (as in Formula 1) painted in Ferrari red. They didn't make a lot of them.

They put out 280watts at 8 ohms and 450 watts at 4ohms.

Hi there,
Well after a considerable search I decided to buy a Markbass Cab, the 410HF.
My current set up is a Genz Benz Shuttle 6.0 and 2x GK Neo 112 cabs. My axe is a Gretch Thunderjet.
I wanted something with a little more power and grind than I was getting from the 12 inch speakers, though I love their portability. They always seem rather middy, a bit waffly and mellow to me. Great as PA speakers though, so Hi Fi, so I'll probably keep them for bass practices and for PA sound.

Anyway I liked the Markbass sound and they seem so popular, they are never for sale on ebay, so new is the only option. I hope I did the right thing with getting a 4 Ohm. I was orginally looking at a rig, like a 410 plus a 210 or 112 to take to practice, but everyone said that a single 410 will be all you will ever need for any gig, and with 4 Ohm I get the full 600W from the shuttle head. I only do occasional smallish gigs anyway, we are not a big loud band.

How exciting. We do a gig Sat night and I get to use it!

You should be totally fine then. While the Shuttles aren't necessarily known for being the loudest heads in their class (speaking very subjectively here of course), a 410 cab should be efficient enough to make your total rig more than enough for what you describe your band to be. I predict joy on the gig. :)

Not sure what that red Markbass head is posted above, but it is not the red special edition F1 (which is identical to the one space F1, just a different color).

That looks like the older, heavier, pre SMPS design MB head (like a pre SMPS Little Mark). I bet it sounds good!

The warranty paperwork says: F Series Little Mark F1 Limited Edition Slim Head (450 W)

Cool! They must have carried the F1 name over to the current class D/SMPS model, which also had a 'special edition' red faceplate option for a while.

I assume the head you have is a 'transition' model between the MusicMan Audiophile heads made by Markbass and the current lightweight Markbass heads.

Eheh I hadn't a clue about that to be honest...the head itself weights about 11 libs so I guess you can't really call it a "lightweight" :p however what matters is that it plays great,doesn't it? :D
