I know this has been done to death around here, but I just wanted to give a shout out to the Gig Skinz small mixer bag. I just picked one up for my LMII and it's fabulous. Perfect fit, nice and rugged and some added storage for us mini riggers. :D

I dig it...carry on.

I just got a cover for my CMD 121P and it is, quite literally, perfect. Heavy vinyl with padded interior.....outstanding quality. If you guys are like me and want to protect this big monetary investment - give these guys a look.

I have no commercial or investment interest in this company. I have purchased covers for my Ampeg rig and now the MarkBass stuff.....just a recommendation from a satisified customer!

Seriously, I'm not really interested in managing the list to that level unless someone is insistent they have their name removed for some reason. You owned and enjoyed one at some point, and that's enough. You're basically an honorary member now. :D

With a bass like an MTD, and a cab with a lot of treble extension like the 410UL, that control can result in a much nicer top end control than using either the active treble cut on the bass or amp, or turning the tweeter way down. You just need to mess around with it a bit, and again, the 'useful' range if you still want a modern, treble present tone, is between off and 9 o'clock IMO.

For the bass and cab you have, try keeping the bass and low mids 'flat', cutting the hi mid (the 'gank' area) just a touch (between 10 and 11 o'clock), dialing in the slightest touch of the VPF... maybe 8 o'clock, and then adjust the VLE to sculpt the sizzle, with the Epi tweeter on at around 10 o'clock. That's a very nice setting with the LMII and a wide voiced bass like the Celinder or MTD's IMO.

Ken, I did take your advice, and you were right. These settings do seem to get me closer to the sound in my head when playing my MTD through this rig. Any advice on settings for my new Nordy?

Hey Tony, I play an Ash/Maple Nordy with Big Splits and Audere Pre through an LMII head.

I run that Audere pre dead flat 95% of the time. Maybe a touch of mid boost here and there. The bass has plenty of natural highs, so I never boost the treble on the Audere. I use the Mid-Z (middle switch position) and then I roll off the passive tone control on the Nordy about 30% to warm things up.

All that said, for my LMII, I tend to boost the Low and low mids on my LMII to 1:30 for a little added punch and fullness down low. VPF - about 8-9 o'clock. I also dial the VLE to about 8 o'clock as well. That warms things up a touch. I set the input gain knob as high as possible before getting a little flicker on the clip LED with the loudest notes. Then I set the Master Vol as needed. Usually about 9-10 o'clock is plenty loud. But I've had the Master Vol all the way up to Midnight at a large, outdoor event. The amp never broke a sweat.

My Cab is an Epifani UL310 (S2). Hope this helps. Gary

Thanks for the tips Gary. I'm using a Series I UL410 though, so my settings would likely be a little different than what you would use with your Series II UL310.

Yes, I did. It was a great amp for me for years. I never experienced any of the "issues" that some others have mentioned here. One of my fave amps!
