I took my MarkBass CMD 121P to a sudden jam session Sunday morning. When arriving, there were two guitar players with each having 2x12 MesaBogie cabinets and huge stacks, as well as a drummer with a big set.

I placed my MB next to the drummer in the practice area, and it sounded just fine, to their big surprise, in this just wall of guitar and drum audio.

Just wanted to share a really positive Markbass story with the club. I only bought my head the other day and got a special deal as the face plate said LM 250 whilst the rear plate said LM II, I was assured that it was an LM II. Anyway I can be kind of cynical and distrusting so I emailed Markbass in Italy and asked them if they could tell from the serial number. Long story short they just telephoned me and asked me to check the number of heat sinks in the head (you can see them through the vents), there are 2 which means that it is an LM II. This is the kind of service I could get used to, I've never had a manufacturer call me, it's normally all email or I have to call them (repeatedly in some cases). Having used the head at rehearsal yesterday I am not only super impressed with the product, but also with the company. It's good to know that MB owners have that kind of support behind them.

I took my CMD 121P to a smaller practice/gig (odd combination...) last night. The room had huge wooden floors and my bass sound was booming, so I just pushed the CMD box very close to the back wall and the sound characteristics improved dramatically.

So that's another trick in case you end up having similar problems with certain acoustic environments. --Kent

I just had to post about a gig I sat in on last night.
I used my Sadowsky Standard 4 into a Markbass F1 / Epifani UL2-410.
The band played rock covers and consisted of a heavy hitting drummer,
Marshall half stack - Les Paul Guitarist and lead vocalist. No PA support for me.

My rig sounded absolutly amazing at this club. It had a high ceiling, wood floors
and a modest stage (rare for some clubs). There was close to 200 - 250 people there.

The F1/Epi rig filled the room and the Sadowsky was grinding nicely. I was just loving the
sound I was getting all night. It made me play better. There were a few musicians in the
room and they commented how great the bass sounded too.

The Markbass F1 / Epifani UL2-410 is just a great compact, light weight rig that totally kills!
I'm just loving the Markbass stuff! Oh yeah, I had my LMII with me in a Gig Skinz bag as a
back up but never needed it! I cant wait to try the F500 next!

I just (finally) got my F1 yesterday. Literally unboxed it and put it on a pair of the new Berg AE210 cabs and did an outdoor gig with the blues band. Amazing. I still have to play more with it, and do a more direct compare with the LMII to see if I have a pref, but if I do, it'll be subtle.

Looking forward to that comparison Vic. Especially on the AE210 cabs. Keep us posted. I am on the verge of trading my Genz Benz Shuttle for an F1.

Anybody interested in trading their F1 for my Shuttle? :D

Who knows? The Shuttle might be more someone's ideal tone. After gigging with it for a few months, I've realized the Markbass stuff is better suited for my style of playing and tone goals. I LOVE my LMII, but I'd like to have the flexibility to choose the F1 where it mates with other cabinets better.

Will do, but I will say this so far (tho admittedly not much comparitive time yet)... the F1 doesn't sound night/day different to the LMII, so unless you have specific portability needs (which I do), I'm not sure it's totally worth it. IMHO.

Just used my new LMII in anger for the first time last night with my 7 piece band. Now I see what all the fuss about these tiny amps has been about, it was incredible! Volume at about 9-10 o'clock, eq mostly flat with just a little more mid range to cut through (using my P bass) and I filled the crowded room with just a 2x10! One guy in the audience said the bass sounded fantastic (a fellow bass player of course) good and solid, yet still really articulate.

Really stoked to be a Markbass owner:D

"In anger"? Maybe this is an across the pond thing, but I don't know what you mean. :)

Also, which 210 were you using?

In anger means at a gig not a rehearsal or playing at home/in the shop.

Ashdown ABM 2x10 with retro fit Ashdown (Jensen) Neo speakers (500w compared to the original 300w), rear ported.

Full rig used below (DI box conveniently used as a mute for tuning through the parallel output)
