Question for Marshall MB owners.....does anybody use an external preamp, or bass driver type pedals with their MB series amps? I have the MB4210, and yes it sounds great on its own, but I'm just wondering what success others may have had with pedals or preamps to create some different tones? I admit I'm a gear junkie. And if this question has been asked and answered 100 times....I apologize.

I use a Tech21 Vt-Bass preamp/drive pedal with almost all bass amp/cab combinations I have, because I can I guess, no actual need for it, except I like to tweak my tone at my feet.
I use two MB450H heads into 4x 4x10 cabs I used to use a 4x10 and a 1x15 but someone blew my 1x15 up at a gig some time back. I prefer the 4x10s anyway, they sound awesome. Listen here if you want to know what they sound like (the mix is live DI from the back of the amp post pre amp and a mic mixed in too)
Anyone have a DBS7200? I have a DBS7200 and it has fairly big hum when it's just sitting there. How much noise does your DBS7200 make? I've posted a thread about it here:

Has anyone ever removed the MB 4210 Head from the cabinet? This thing is so heavy to get up the multiple sets of stairs I have to climb in order to jam. Really need two people to carry it. Was thinking of removing the head from the cabinet and separating them. Maybe getting a second cabinet so I can just carry the head to practice, or make two lighter trips. Any thoughts on this, or has someone done this? Dumb?

I own two of these cabs & think they are great; I gigged with the one for years and had no problems being heard or blowing a speaker... I used an old tuck and roll kustom head with it a lot of the time, and occasianlly a gk 400rb... Matt : )

It's just how they originally did it, and have pretty much always done it. It's not balanced, but they pretty much have always had the power transformer on the right side (looking form the rear) with the output transformer in the middle. I actually find it pretty easy to carry though, so it's not too big of a deal.

I got this Marshall 20 in 1983. A Christmas present from my parents. It's got a Celestion G10L-35 speaker and an open back. I loaned it to "somebody" back in the late 80's and it disappeared for a little over a decade. One day, I get a phone call and find out the person wanted to get it back to me. So I got it back. pretty cool.

I need a bigger amp for band so I wanna buy Marshall mb 60 ,I'm sure about sound and classic channel

But I'm not sure about quality ، especially it's entery lvl of huge factory Marshall .
Is mb 69 good amp and trustable in quality ?

Depending on the type of music you play and assuming that you have a drummer, going for 30 watts to 60 watts will bring virtually nothing to the table for you. You will need more watts.Hi guys ,sorry I interrupt you here .
