i had the lemmy 1992 Bass head and i was disappointed by it I should have gotten the VBA 400Here's a picture of the whole family (and the newest addition that I picked up just after the first pic was taken). \m/ \m/

I bought this one yesterday at an outlet store.
They had it from another store that closed. I know it's an old model but it was never used and it sounds great!

Can you tell me about this bass amp i can by a combo amp. With that he'd it has 4X10 cabinet for under 400 bucks
It's been an interesting read. Me and my MB4210 have been getting along pretty well the past few years. I'm pretty much into the tube vibe so I stay completely on the Classic side of things. Interesting to hear people talking about turning down the bass. I run the bass control almost to full but have the voice and treble about 12 o'clock. Gives good meat even down to an open low B without any mud. I like the little extra punch that I get from my Basstortion. It's a subtle change in dynamics, gives it more punch. That seems to be what I need to get the tone I'm after. It's a sweet tone that I was perfectly happy with and then I had to stumble upon some YouTube videos of some Mesa Boogie amps.
Long story short, I'm travelling back home with a used Walkabout Scout combo. I'm rather intrigued because I should be able to run both cabs from either head. The Mesa already wins in one important area, though. It's considerably lighter!
Very very sad to hear Marshall dropping the bass side of things.
Will update the club after I get home and try things out.

I finaly completed my Marshall stack! 
Nice rig man. The VBA is awesome...very much an overlooked amp in the bass world for the "bigger" brands. I sold my VBC 4x12 and got a 2x15 loaded with eminences to partner mine. How would you compare the 4x12s to the 8x10s in the series?I finaly completed my Marshall stack!
I love the 1992LEM amp, but my vintage Super Basses are noticeably louder and thicker. I haven't touch the innards of the LEM, except to swap the chinese preamp tubes with NOS Mullard 161s, so I'm sure it's biased ice cold, and that's a big factor in the differences.

BTW, I noticed that, on the bottom cab, the horizontal brace on the front of the baffle doesn't extend all the way across like the top cab. What years of manufacture are the cabs (it's part of the serial number on the back)?

Well, I've had the Walkabout for about a month here now. I can definitely tell it is a more sophisticated amp but there was a really nice growl I was getting from the Marshall that I haven't quite coaxed the Mesa Boogie to do. I will get there. No question that the Mesa is more responsive. It just goes to show, though, how very good the basic tone is on the Marshall.
@kissmybASS01 is this a numbered club?! I want one!
