Rumors on that end have died out. I tried to reach Ade the other day about that and other things, but he seems to be off of social media lately.
Mh, sound like either the resistance before the lamp or something down the line is drawing more current than it should be or maybe the LED is just phasing out... your tech knows best
Thread has been dead for over a month so here are some pics from Saturday night to bring it back to life.
I'm using this rig at most gigs. Haven't taken fresh pics tho.

Sorry, no pics yet. I've had my Terror Bass 500 for a couple of weeks, but didn't have a chance to turn it up any until last night at practice. We rent practice rooms that are equipped with guitar and bass amps and PA. So I have been just bringing my bass and stuff, no amp. Last night I brought the Terror Bass head, and the room had an SVT-350 with an Ampeg 8x10. I unplugged the SVT-350 and plugged the Terror Bass into the 810. I think "Holy Moly!" would be the correct response.
In the past, I've used various solid state amps or preamp/power amp combinations, and always kind of felt that I had to choose between definition and bass, so I've tended to cut lows somewhat. This amp is very different that what I've experienced before. It really has its own personality.
So I tried various combinations of EQ and drive and volume and so on. It sounds very thick and surrounds with blankets of furry bass. More furry than fuzzy unless you really crank the gain. I like furry. And it's LOUD. I damaged my hearing nearly 40 years ago using a 200 watt Roland amp with a 2x15 cabinet, and I could easily finish them off with this. But, having all that power allows lots of lows, and this amp's midrange-oriented sound keeps the notes audible.
It's going to take a while to get used to this EQ.

It has a Fender-ish tone stack which means flat is not 12:00 but rather bass and treble off (fully counter clockwise) and mids fully on (fully clockwise) and then you can adjust from there to get your sound. What kind of EQ were you using?
I had treble up pretty high, around 2-3 o'clock, bass around 9-10, and mids noonish, IIRC. I'll try starting with the settings you suggest. I had started with all knobs at noon, and it seemed pretty big and boomy.
I can get a whole lot of different pleasing tones with bass from off to 9:00, treble from off to 10:00 and mids from 3:00 to fully on. At 12:00, oh yeah big and boomy it will most definitely be. Try playing throughout those different settings and I think you are going to be very pleased. Remember EQ with your ears, not you eyes.
I've got a stupid question for the ad200b owners. I played my AD200 for the first time and the standby switch confused me a little. It seemed to me that standby was ON in the down position, is this correct?
I didn't find anything with a quick search but I'd really like to know before I turn the thing on again and risk messing something up. Thanks in advance!

Power and standby switches should be in the same orientation, shouldn't they? So when your power is off and the standby switch is in the same position you can safely switch the amp on and it will be on stand by. Flipping the standby next you will have sound. However, in case your switches happen to be misaligned I do not think you will actually damage anything by just turning it on to see which way the standby switch mutes your particular amp.
Note: I do not own an AD200B. I hope someone who does stops by to confirm or correct this. I'm just thinking you don't need to wait unnecessarily long just to get back to playing.
Both switches UP = Amp is powered off
Power Switch DOWN and Standby Switch UP = Amp is on standby (warming up).
Power Switch DOWN and Standby Switch DOWN = Amp is powered up and in Play Mode.
If you switch the standby switch down first then the power it will send power straight through to the speakers without warming up which can apparently reduce the life of your tubes.
So the sequence is:
Power switch down first, wait a minute or so to let tubes warm up, put the Standby switch down. Play.

Two OBC112s really sounds amazing. One alone is very impressive, but adding the second one *really* makes for a huge sound.
I've followed your amplification tastes (Eden/GK / fender amongst others I'm sure)
how are you finding the tube flavoured orange vs the clean and modern tones that you have employed over the years?
Apologies, as it's been a long time since I've posted to this group, but I know exactly what you are talking about with this rig as I'm now rocking the exact same set up.
This will be my second time with this setup, and my experience is that context means everything, as the last time I had this rig, I wasn't as impressed. But now that my main band is doing the stoner-metal thing, it's perfect. Lots of low-fi thickness out of this stack when played through my Thunderbird. I figured that if the whole "Gibson guitar running into an Orange stack" thing was good enough for guitarists, then maybe there's something to it for bassists as well.
But actually my primary motivation for this bass rig was quality plus weight considerations, as I've got a stress fracture in one of my lumbar vertebrae that's causing quite a bit of pain, so the ultra light cabs are a total winner for me. I've been a big fan of the Bass Terror series over the years, both their v1 and v2 versions. You would think that a Thunderbird would be a no-go for my situation, but this is actually the lightest Bird I've ever played (about 7.75 pounds), so it's obviously the best one I've ever played.
Anyway, that was a long, self-centered way of saying "I totally agree with your statement" by recommending the Orange stack to anyone who will listen. Love these things!
My clean tone is still there, it's just a bit warmer now than what I used to go for.
The Orange is more along the lines of the Super Bassman it replaced, or the Aguilar DB750 I used to own. It has that same weight and warmth to all the notes that those two had, rather than the more clinical clean sound I used to go for, if that makes sense? It's got an inherent modern-vintage type sound to it, which works perfectly for my needs/wants these days (country/rock/pop variety band).
I should also add that a big part of my sound is due to my pedalboard setup as well. I've got a lot of EQ options going on, along with the magic (IMO) that the Cali76 adds as well. However, the Orange on its own sounds stellar, and I'd be totally happy just plugging straight into it.
Hi all! As far as you know, are there any clues about an upgrading of the OB1? Like adding the EQ section of the 4 stroke, for example (or the contrary, adding the gain/drive section of the OB1 on the 4 stroke)? I saw a lot of requests about this and, since the 4 stroke is discontinued, if I understood correctly, I'm wondering if Orange is thinking about this...are there any news?
