Hey. Interested in seeing how you feel about this stack? Are you able to compare it to the AD200B and OBC115 stacks?
There is a possibility my band progresses from doing the monthly show to actual touring at some point. And if we get there I’m tempted to leave the tubes at home and tour on a more light weight rig.
I can’t compare with the AD200B and the OBC115 stack as I have no experience. I can say that this thing sounds a lot bigger than it is.
I just recently bought an Orange OBC410. Just a beast of a cab. I am considering returning due to the weight of the thing but honestly I don't think I'll find something else cheaper this good. I've looked at the Aguilar 4x10 (half the weight of the OBC410) and maybe an Ampeg 6x10 (with casters). Any opinions? I do like the specific dark sound of the Orange cabs. Pairs nicely with a Rick.

Removable castors for the 410. .
I've got em on my Bassman 115s. They don't weigh much and help over smooth surfaces.
Cross country not so much.
Collapsible trolley/ hand cart is what I'd recommend for that.
If I liked and was gonna use it, I'd keep the OBC.
Bergantino and Mesa both I think, make lightweight 410s. Maybe a different vibe tho
Don't you have to keep the 4x10 with skids planted firmly on the floor tho? I guess I could buy a rolling case to store it in and then pick up and place on the floor? I might get the smaller 1x15 down the road to add to it.
What Orange amp would you recommend to match?
The removable castors on my Bassman cabs, once removed allow the cab to sit on itz rubber feet.

I got an AD200B which is great up until we get too loud and it's too much power tube overdrive
Then a more powerful class D amp has to "suffice".
Well I've read they sometimes break down and no DI out either (not a big deal as could get a ProDI)
I might just stick with the Quilter and use the Orange cab. Do you think the Orange 8x10 is too much?
I like the SVT sound the most. Records like the Scorpions and their great bass sound or Aerosmith.
No DI, tho you can use the slave out, but I've got a Radial JDI so I use this between amp and cab.
Any amp can fail. I've never had any problems with my AD200B tho.
Tom Hamilton in Aerosmith, used to use GK, if I remember correctly. Whether this is his actual live sound, or recorded sound, is another matter.
I mostly use a Fender Super Bassman, 300w all tube amp, which it's superb, and it's Vintage channel is, to my ears, pretty close to the AD200B sound.
810s are great if you can get em in ur car etc. I've never used an OBC 810 tho

Question for the Orange cab users. I love the sound of the Orange cabs but if you use a DI how do you get that sound into a live performance? I am guessing you would mic the cab but just curious what you all would do?
I am sticking with the Orange 4x10. It sounds fantastic the more I've played through it this last week. I think the 8x10 would be overkill.
The short and unfortunate answer (without a mic on the cab) is that you don't.
Actually, another quick question. Any benefit with the 8x10 closed cab vs the ported of the 4x10? The 4x10 I have has the hole on the back of the cab.

For recording: If I use the AD200B, I either Mic the cab with a Sennheiser MD421 or a Shure Beta 52a. Sometimes I use a line level DI from the Slave out and a cab sim.
In a live situation, either will ensure the wrath of your FOH Tech, so I only do that with guys that have the time and are willing to.
Most of the time I simply eschew the cab sound and go with the LBT alone, or the AD200B Slave out in the return of the LBT and from there to FOH.
If I want the cab sound without a mic, I use the Bass Butler.
They are quite different cabs to compare adequately, the 810 use 4 2x10 compartments with neodymium speakers, so out of the bat is a different sound. But both are pleasant sounding and punchy enough. The advantages of the 410 are the horn and the modularity. The 810 is loud, filling any venue you would ever play (except for Wembley) and is, almost against intuition, easier to transport, assuming you have room on your vehicle for it.
I wouldn't get the 115. I would stay with drivers of the same size.
The OBC810 uses Eminence Legend 32ohm ceramic speakers, not neos.
Unless there were two versions of it. Mine is definitely ceramic speakers, same as is listed in the website specs.

Go with 2 of exact same cab for 100% positive results, all other options are a crapshoot. They might work, might not.
Some companies do make their cabs to go well with each other. Some, maybe not.
I've used, years ago, a 210 and a single 15 from same company but different series/models, and had poor results. It was better with either one, Not both.
Yeah, was wondering about that. Knowing Orange, it'd be a solid MF no matter which.

Still, not the same drivers as in the 410.
Are they good drivers in the 4x10? vs the 8x10?
Is there any real reason to get a closed cab instead of the ported like the 4x10?
