OK, just tried it and it worked. Not that I didn't expect it to work, but more that I don't want to do any damage to anything. Will keep the thread posted!

Did get confirmation from Orange support that plugging in DI only was OK. Same person indicated that the funny noise my amp is making could be a "capacitor losing its value." Anyone have experience with a failing capacitor??

A bad capacitor in the power rail can result in it, yes.

My band released our first video from our upcoming album today!

Our debut album is coming out real soon so we decided to do a bit of a DIY video for one of the songs.


I am pretty happy with how it turned out however I doubt I will shoot a video with a GoPro in the future.


As for the bass part, I recorded the whole album with my Ric 4003 split DI and my Orange AD200 through a Bergantino NV610. I was going to use my OBC810 but one of the wheels has broken so dragging it along to the studio was too much of a pain.

Very nice! I'll admit I had a pair of 2x12's and I bought the black so it would match. But when I decided to get the Orange cabs, just jumped in on the sexy Orange color.

No it was a pair of LDS Custom cabs. Both had the Genz Benz Faital speakers that Avatar was moving. I ended up getting the 2 15's, and I kept one of the two 2x12 cabs.

They sounded better individually than together. It was 4 ohms each, so to run with the Orange I needed to use a series cable I had made. I kept one. It does sound good, but extremely clean. Won't give up hardly any distortion from the head.

It's great when you get the volume just right and it's teetering on drive points

So that is my older cabs. As I said I kept one and use it elsewhere, but about a year ago I jumped in and bought two OBC115's. And they give me a lot more distortion in a way I like. So that is what I usually use with my AD200B.

Generally I have been liking the OBC115's. I rarely ever use both at the same time, and in the last few months I have had an opportunity to play some shows where I used my amp but used a cabinet supplied by the venue or another band. In one case, I used a Marshall Super Bass 4x10, and this past weekend the house had a Hartke 4x10. And I gotta say, I really liked the way the 4x10 sounded.

So I am thinking about getting an OBC 410, so I am curious how people think of these cabs. I just felt the 410's really gave that low mid punch and thump but I haven't been able to play one in person. I found a video online comparing a bunch of heads and 410 cabs, and the Orange 410 (paired with a TB500) seemed really dark and kind of muddy. Trying to understand if it was the EQ (which I could not see in the Vid), the TB500 which I think gets a little dark, or the cab.

The guy on Reverb is up for a trade of one of my 15's plus a little cash for his 410. Only issue is his is older, mine is newer, but also he is in Brooklyn and I am in DE. Here are some pics he shared with me.

That 410 has a LOT of Mojo on it, I think it looks cool!

that is one of the original models of the 410, you can tell by the separate 1/4" and neutrik jacks. i used to have one of those. personally i liked the 115 better than the 410, it was also a TON lighter.

I set one of my 115's on wheels. So I'd for sure do that. Plus kinda hard to complain about weight when I cannot bring myself to replace a 70 lbs head.
