Thankfully, no. There is at least an inch (or more) of clearance around all sides of the amp. The back is completely open, and the side with the fan is also open, so plenty of cool air gets drawn in. The amp gets no hotter than it had pre-case

Where did you get that case for the terror bass? Been looking forever for one!
I've been debating getting an orange 410 to accent the terror bass. I'm currently running an ampeg 610 for shows/ampeg 410 heritage for practice, but I'm curious if the obc410 would be worth trading in for either one of the current cabs I have. I feel like a full orange rig would make sense and possibly sound even better. Help!
This is the company that makes them now. At the time I got mine, it was just a fella here on TB (not active anymore) who was selling them. The company changed names a couple times, but this is 100% the same one I have.

And FWIW about the cabs, I've always found those Ampeg Heritage cabs to be incredibly boomy and scooped out. Which is the exact opposite of the kind of cab I'd want to match the Terror to; it already has a big booty, and a bit of a mid scoop to begin with.
Any chance you can go somewhere that has both an Ampeg and Orange cab and try them back to back?
Thanks for the info! I just went to guitar center, but they didn't have any terror bass heads to try out with the 410 to get an idea..
@Burtt you could always just brings yours with you? Unless I've misread, and you don't own a Terror already.
Would definitely be the best way. And amps are easy to transport these days.

Traded in the ampeg heritage 410 and some other things for the ob410 and it sounds insane! Ended up only having to pay $60 after the trade in. Definitely better sounding than the ampeg, and heavier for sure.

It will also give me fuller sound at very low volume in my small apartment, and place the top driver at ear level in my playing

Buying additional and sometimes unnecessary gear is all part of the Talkbass experience.
Regardless, if buying something makes you happy, buy it.

No, you are not crazy. If I had the room, I'd get a second one as well.
I'm usually a pedal guy - couple of drives, usually a preamp pedal, some modulation & reverb here and there - but today I just couldn't be bothered to load and unload everything for a relatively short practice.
Instead, today I went direct into the Terror Bass for the first time, and absolutely loved it. I missed being able to kick on more distortion in some moments, but generally it sounded great. Very present in the mix, easy adjustments with the EQ - it's easy to see why they're so popular.
I'll still end up taking my pedalboard with me next week and for the next run of gigs, but I may be just a little resentful of it.

So, now I have this!! I'm a longtime Ampeg loyal guy, but I felt I needed more power than the V4B I use for one of my bands, and just didn't want to go the SVT route. I'm looking forward to tomorrow when I get to use it with the band. It will be running through a sealed, somewhat shallow (14") old Ampeg B40 4x10 cab that I have which is loaded with Eminence BassLite SC10-16's, so we'll see. It's likely that the ported 212AV it's sitting on in the picture may end up being the cab I ultimately use.
But, I think, once I can sell some stuff, the OBC115 with be the one to go with. What are some of your thoughts on having a single OBC115 with the AD200, will I be able to go loud and low, but still get good definition? I'm pretty sure I do not want the 410, mostly because it's just too heavy, plus I'm leaning towards ported cabinets these days.

when I used to tour my "small rig" was the ad200 and obc115, plenty loud and plenty deep. If you are worried about power/cabs you could also go the 2 obc112 route, they are together probably weigh as much as the obc115
What are the thoughts on the OBC212, isobaric cabs? I know they are discontinued, which I believe usually indicates they weren't very popular.
I always wondered what happened when the seal failed on the isobaric cabinet? I thought to have the two speakers work in unison they sealed them is a vacuum container. I played through a used one and it farted out bad. I own a obc12 and I'm thinking of getting another.
