Appreciate the help Kawika and TomBowlus -

If I can find a good AD200 - I will pick it up else I will wait for the 1000watt version of the terror - also think I will buy an SP4x10 and give it a shot - 2 separate 15's might be tough to get in and out of a car. Unfortunately I, just like Mettalicafan, do not have an Orange dealer (with Stock) anywhere near Boston.... so will have to rely on the comparisons on Youtube and the other input given here which I sincerely appreciate.

Thanks again.

Keep in mind also about stacking issues. I had the same problem (410 + SP212), so I'm going to sell the 212 since I already purchased another SP410 to simplify stacking. The SP410 definitely gives me more "highs" and I like the fact that it DOESN'T come with a tweeter. That's just how I like it, but YMMV.

I saw that the Sp410 stacks perfectly with the OBC115. I like the Sp410 because there is no tweeter. I think tweeters are pointless. The only high's I get out of them are the clicks and clacks of my strings, not actual musical notes.

EDIT:
I just found an Orange amp video on youtube that runs through each of the Isobaric models. I do not liek the sound of that 410. It is too muddy sound. However the 21 sounded amazing! So now I'm stuck between the SP212's and the OBC115's. There are no videos of the 115 anywhere I look. :(

I talked to fellow bass player and producer who said that AD200 has a very strong treble presence, even when set at 0.

Has anyone experienced the same thing?

No. I personally would say the opposite is true. Of course it is a natural* sounding amp that really takes on the character of the player and bass...and my basses have flats that are anywhere between 5 and 11 years old. :ninja:

(*What I mean by natural sounding is that if you dig-in it gets gnarly, and if you lay back it is very mellow...)

Howzit Kawika,

Yes it is a OBC 410 and I have always had Eden 210's and never a 410 cabinet. So to me it sounds massive. After the first rehearsal it was quite apparent that the rest of my band members noticed it also.I will probably add a OBC 115 in the near future.Did you pick up your SP-410 from HMS?

Howzit cuz, I bought the 410 from ebay and negotiated a better price. I think the 115 would be a good addition too, but I think you would have more than enough bottom end with the 410 cab.

Congrats on the nice cab! Orange all da way!

Kawika,

Oh yeah I have plenty enough low end already. But I am kind of old school and like the sound of 15's.And I have read nothing but rave reviews about the OBC 115.Also it would gave the me flexibility of using one cabinet or the other when I feel like something different.

And yes Orange all da way brah.

I did receive my Bass Terror 500 head - Still waiting for My Black Orange SP4x10 - Ordered it from Bass Central and took a lot longer than I expected. Will post a Pic of that next week when I get it.

Used it last night playing out - This head is extremely Loud - Much Louder than many of the heads I have played with including my current GenzBenz Shuttle 6.0, and Markbass LMII - I had the Gain @ 5 and the volume @ 2.5 -EQ Neutral (4ohms into a Genz Benz Neox1x12 and a Markbass 2x10) Running into the Board DI.

A few members in the Audience indicated that their shoes were shaking from the bass response. Have to adjust and work more on the mids next show.....

I have an AD200b myself, I tried to post a picture, but it was too big. I need to re-tube it, actually I was wondering what are the thoughts on what tubes to use; I was looking at (I think) svetlana winged c kt88s and for 4 of them it's quite expensive, although I've heard good tubes make quite the difference. I bought this amp from another user and it currently has 4 valve art made in china kt88s. Any thoughts/advice?

Also, I'm playing a show this upcoming Saturday, the amp is running on 2 tubes cause the fuse blew in the other set, should I risk it and take the amp with me and hopefully the rest of the tubes won't go or use the house ss amp?
